I've taken this thing half a dozen times over the years and this one always gets me:
Because I feel like I know it from media and never anybody actually talking about it in real life. SO HOW IS IT SO REGIONALLY SPECIFIC?

Id say that’s pretty accurate since that’s the area I’ve always been. I have some friends who went to different areas for school or work and definitely picked up some of their sayings but I don’t use them in everyday convos.
What's my definition of success?
Creating something no one else can
Being brave enough to dream big
Grindin' when you're told to just quit
Giving more when you got nothin' left
I got Detroit/Buffalo/Rochester, which I guess makes sense because I’m in Ontario. Least similar to the southeastern states.
The conversation about where I’m from vs where my parents are from reminds me of a similar one I’ve had about accents, when I used to skype friends from elsewhere in North America and often got told my accent is extremely neutral. I was born and raised in Canada by Canadian parents, but my mom was raised in Canada by British people while my dad was an army brat and grew up mostly in the states, but raised by Canadians. So then I guess those two kind of cancel each other out as they’re collectively raising me? I also know that when I’m around British family I’ll subconsciously adopt their cadence a bit - not the accent, but like the rhythm of sentences and saying things like “isn’t it” and “haven’t we” all the time. It’s weird how unnatural that feels outside the context of talking to Brits, but then just like happens if I’m with them for a couple days.
This was so accurate that it almost put me on the block where I live!!!!!

Yup, pretty accurate to where I grew up! Not sure where Springfield or Reno come in, since I've never been to either.
Always fun to see the strange words that people out there use!
