I still don't think it's based on a tagline, but maybe it is! Mine seems to have appeared maybe 30 seconds after my last post, but I don't think my username color changed immediately. One down ... 4 to go? (The og red and green, blue/purple, plaid... maybe 3 now.

That's what happened to me as well. I was posting last night and then I signed off. I woke up this morning to a new gifted bar. So I'm not sure when or what triggered it

Maybe Santa is doing some rounds of peekaboo pre Christmas rush to get his reindeer warmed up? LOL, here’s to hoping we all have some good luck with them and get a better idea!

Maybe gifted is something we receive overnight only? Perhaps we have to log out for a certain amount of time (like, 8 hours?) and once we log on in the morning, we have a chance of getting the gifted bar?
