Collaborative Music... on TikTok...?

Okay, I am not a TikTok person. I don't have an account. I watch whatever people send me on whatever device I'm on, and they're like CREATE AN ACCOUNT, and I be like, 'Nah.'

That said, today I came across this on Twitter (because half our social medias these days are just reposting what we did on the other social media right?), and I had to share it.

You'll have to follow the thread of replies, but this guy on TikTok starts by singing an original bit about a break up in a grocery store. Using some feature in TikTok called duets (I guess that's self explanatory, and becomes more so as you watch these clips), people add themselves to the video, and it becomes this whole musical number.

It's amazing and hilarious and kind of beautiful.

2020 is a pretty big shitshow, but there are bright spots. Hope this one makes you smile!

I'm also not really a tiktok person myself but for another reason because it's a black hole and I've had occasions where I tell myself I'm gonna watch tiktok for 30 minutes before bedtime and before I know it, it's 5am and I only have 2 hours left to sleep before having to get up and go to work so now I don't watch anymore.

I thought this was pretty interesting lol and the can of soup was just hilarious.

Necessity is the mother of invention; I'm not a TikTok person (in fact, I hate when my year 9 girls do stupid gestures constantly for it), but I do appreciate the different ways that people have managed to express creativity during times of limited social interaction.

Also dislike TikTok for a bevy of reasons but online strangers collaborating to make ART? One of the things I am very grateful about this generation and the tools we have to supplement our creativity.

Haha that was a pretty good one. I have seen similar things in the past but none that have had THAT much added onto them. TikTok has some interesting stuff, recipes, dogs, games, dogs, dogs. Earlier this year in quarantine I used it more. Now my fianc� just sends me funny stuff that she stumbles across on there haha
