What is this?

Genshin Impact is an open-world JRPG with gacha elements, developed by Mihoyo, whose best known game is Honkai Impact for iOS and Android. It draws inspiration from Breath of the Wild, and has a unique battle system based on elements and using their combination for devastating effects.

What can I play it on?
Genshin Impact is available on PC, Android, iOS and PS4. It is also eventually coming to the Switch.

Anyone here playing this? From what’s being said about it, it’s basically an anime Breath of the Wild. I’ve put some hours into and it’s been pretty cool so far

any idea on how expansive it is? like about 10 or more like 100 hours of gameplay?

It's designed as an open world pseudo mmo so my guess would be that there will be constant content updates
and yay! I hope you find it enjoyable as I do! It's definitely a play at your pace kind of game if you're huge into min-maxing things I feel

open world RPG for now i guess.
So far haven't noticed on the MMO part to be honest.

Then again i'm only really in the beginning and already wandered off way from my current target

Yea. Most mmorpgs nowadays are similar with microtransactions being towards the gacha side. I'd be surprised if an mmorpg came out with a different type of system to earn money.

I've seen a lot of big streamers doing sponsored streams of this game lately...and then continuing to play it after the sponsored segment ends because they're genuinely enjoying it that much. It looks really well put together from what I've seen!

I'm not at a high ranked level of the game to know whether or not end game content is more multiplayer heavy or not

That is correct! It has a gacha element: characters and weapons, but like most gacha games you are able to acquire the currency to pull it by just playing the game. Your progress would just be slower, but since this is more of an pve game, it shouldn't be too much of a hindrance, at least from my experience so far.

I can say for sure that the game is freaking gorgeous. I definitely wish it was more of a traditional MMO but it's relaxing to play something at your own pace!

I can only agree with both statements and i love the fact i can play at my own pace (at least for now).
I love to just explore!

However what I do not like is that some parts are locked behind level requirements it seems (found a dungeon of some sorts i kind enter because my level isn't high enough).
That's just bad game design in my opinion. just let players try to do it anyway. perhaps a resourcefull player can pull it off anyway and if not he/she will not enter again until leveled properly anyway.
