I can't think of specific examples but I have definitely cried both tears of despair and joy.

when I was...15ish maybe like 20ish? (when did the conversion happen?) I accidentally lab zapped my UC lupe and it just so happened to be a species/colour change to a green kacheek, I was so crushed that I quit for like 6 years...and when I came back I found CK, which makes it one of the best decisions I've ever made!

When I was about 10 years old, the altador plot was going on. I made a friend in neopets who was older than me and she helped me with the challenges. She logged into my account, solved what I couldn't do, and left. When she was helping me with the Vaeolus the obvious happened. "She was suddenly taken out of the acount and couldn't get in." Clearly I couldn't enter with my password either.
I cried a lot and my mom spent hours comforting me.

EDIT: I entered the userlookup of that account and SHE FINISHED THE ALTADOR PLOT.
