New Neo Merch?? :o Blankets??

I do think she's compensated somehow.
I've scoured her social media and the art on Geekify isn't on it (unless I'm missing it).

In the post on FB, they do say "our artist" and the blankets are "fully licensed", so I assume she makes some sort of SOMETHING from it.

To clarify and get the full answer,

I shot her an email, directly. She’s actually employed specifically as an artist with Geekify. And is the lead artist on the Neopets project they’ve undertaken! She expressed that she understood my concerns and was happy I contacted her (especially with neos issues in the past)

I just checked out her personal website, and there's Neopets art all over, which is so lovely to see! Even right on the front page she has art of her take on some shopkeepers. She has Neo art under Illustration, Character Design, and Licensing.

I'm not sure how long she's been working on Neo merch for Geekify, but considering she has art from 2019, I'd like to think they hired a fan to take on the new merch. What a dream. Hell, she even has character designs of an ixi it looks like she customized herself. So cool that they chose someone with knowledge of the game itself.

This doesn't change my opinion, I'm glad that Neopets did things well and didn't get involved in another scandal.

She also has some nifty pieces on the neocreation hashtag on twitter. I'm honestly excited for the next steps and where she goes from here. I can't wait for potential tarot cards and that fountain faerie blanket. I'm a slut for the fountain faerie tbh

I think this also could be a way for neo to keep the site alive while they try to figure out what the fuck they're doing with it.
The more people who buy merch probably help over all, plus it brings the conversation topics back.

I'm hoping they (Jumpstart) figure their shit out so I can buy a whole series of Faerie Blankets hahah, and so I can see all the cool merch that comes along with it.


I'll also keep y'all updated on whatever merch comes out and whenever they release the actual product photos of those blankets. I'm sure they're gonna look nice.

Oooh these are MUCH neater than the rug and that pillow??? was it??? that dropped last year. T'was very meh.

I'm so excited to hear that the artist is involved in the community and being compensated fairly - this is almost NEVER the case with collaboration projects, but if she's a resident artist its less likely that she's being taken advantage of.

Illusen is one of my faves and that image is absolutely delightful!

I actually really like the patches, probably the first neo merch I'm actually going to get. I like that a lot of them are not obviously neopets, I can openly have them around and my non-neo supporting friends won't judge me for it lol.

I'd be surprised if TNT had that much input on what Geekify makes - it was John Taylor (Geekify dude) posting on NN about what kind of merch people would like to see. I'm so glad to see they've expanded their offerings!!
