    Overcharge for Premium Payment and Freezing Threats

    So this is going on...



    ... and people are calling for a twitter... riot...?#NeopetLockdown
    because this kind of thing has been going on of a while now, there is even a class action for 5 million from 2015 (?) for automatic renewal of premium...

    Seems like fun.

    Anyone has any tips on preventing this kind of thing? Maybe share them here? Or join the twitter riot out of boredom?

    Not sure how to prevent it, maybe they had tried to switch plans during the period when their premium was going to auto-renew?

    Either way not acceptable on TNT's part, as a company you should fix your customer's billing issues immediately if it was company error.

    Isn't there another person who was having an almost identical issue around recently too?

    It's pretty simple to rectify. They see the dispute and instead of responding to the claim, all they have to do is choose to refund the amount. The person shouldn't have to cancel the dispute in order to get a refund. That's shady.

    I've had TNT double charge me for Premium.
    It was through Paypal specifically. Paypal was connected right to my credit card, so there was no issues with a negative balance.
    I charged back one of the charges and it was fine. No issues at all, because it was very obvious. (However this was two or three TNT groups before the current one).



    In this weird situation with Paypal "following up" on a negative balance (is that actually something they do?), OP should really respond to them with a ticket response showing that TNT is apparently going to issue a refund.

    A dispute literally brings up the option for TNT to hit a "Refund" button. OP literally did the work for TNT to make it stupid-proof.

    I don't know the details, but I assume OP bought a year through Paypal and was charged twice - either by a blip in the system or double clicking.

    Regardless of this situation, TNT's Premium Purchasing portal is extremely out of date, especially in connection with Paypal. There should be preventative measures to avoid double charges. It makes no sense that I can layer Premium purchases on one account. If there's an active Premium subscription on an account and you accidentally try to purchase another, you should get an error, not be able to finalize the purchase. I'm no expert designer, but this should be a very simple function fix.

    Also, it's 2020. You know that the internet is going to absolutely ROAST poor customer service, especially when you're in the wrong. Literally get it together.

    I know their ToS indicates that they can terminate an account at any time, but there is something quite wrong with this. "Don't make any moves against us or we'll freeze you."

    Convenient that they just updated their ToS today...

    However, they really have played the cover your ass game. TNT's lawyers are the only part of the team that seem to put any effort into their work LOL.
    Agreeing to the terms aside, this situation isn't right.

    I was honestly considering getting premium because of the sale.. If I do end up going through with it
    I will most likely buy a prepaid gift card to avoid getting double charged. Cmon TNT .

    Yes, I use a prepaid card now because in 2015 they triple charged me. The did not refund me then, just extended my premium until 2019.

    Wtf TNT, this is shady in fact, and I hope the Twitter riot works, not for them to close, but, I mean, they need to learn that when they're the one committing the mistake the customer has the right to complain and get an actual solution.

    If they keep freezing their users, they'll end up with only an ice kingdom.
