Hello, newbie checking in!

What's up?

Just joined up, looking to get back into Neopets and hopefully rank up here a little.
I'm 28 years old and I enjoy fitness and collecting just about anything. I've recently got into watercolour painting, but I'm pretty awful at it and I'm finding it very difficult not to be discouraged!

Anyway nice to meet you all, hopefully I'll see you around the forums!

Normally I feel too awkward to post on the intro threads, but felt inspired to chime in. Water color can be a lot of fun even without skill. I just really like the process of getting the color down on paper and playing with different techniques without trying to paint a thin and just go for abstract splotches! I find it can be pretty meditative, so maybe that's up your alley.

We have a thread somewhere in general about collections, also!

How did you manage to find clraik?

Hey, thanks for the welcome! I've been trying to just experiment with abstract colours but it feels like I can never quite get the amount of water right. It's either too much and it's puddling up or too little and my colours aren't really spreading into each other very much? Maybe it's just practice.

tbh that's something i still sometimes struggle with but sometimes it comes without really thinking about it, so probably practice? I also use gouache and not the usual little powder block things, so that might make a difference. I haven't watercolored in weeks, maybe I'll bring them out tonight!
