Oh my word! That must have been terrifying for you! Even if the sight of blood doesn't bother you, a lot of your own blood, especially in a situation where you definitely aren't expecting to see it, is scary as hell. I'm so glad you had your mom there to help out and that you were able to recover without hospital time (and lifelong debt).
I hope that everything has healed up okay, physically and emotionally, with you and your significant other now.
Hopefully no more incidents like that in your future!
