I started collecting vinyl records early last year. I've always wanted a record player after finding out how vinyl is the best way to listen to music as you can't really beat analog audio.
So, I found a secondhand turntable (Technics SL-BD1) and started searching for and collecting some of my favourite albums. I've started with older 90's/early 00's hip hop and any other must-haves that might be more modern. Music that I grew up with and in some way or another was special to me. Here's my collection so far:
My decision for buying a record is because it's either a great listen from front to back or it might contain one or two songs that sound amazing to me. I love the old school boom-bap sound, and it's not always about the lyrics. I love great production - will always appreciate a good beat that can age well.
I might seem like a hip hop head, but my taste in music is all over the place. Slowly shifting into finding older rock favs. There are still too many albums (including hip hop) that I'm on the hunt for!
I grew up near (and actually currently until I move back out) a really big secondhand record store. Every so often I got into the idea of collecting, but never did get into it. Still was fun to look through everything! I should check it out before I leave for old times' sake.
I wish I collected something - like a collection type thing. lol. Unless you include books as a collection. I never seem to keep with a collection. I use to collect certain author books.
I'm not 100% a big collector.. but over time I've accumulated a LOT of panda related things.
I have a shelf just dedicated to them haha -- they're just too cute.

hello guys.. i just want to share some things.. i collect a lot of toys.. from funkos , to pvc , or vinyl ... i collect movie toys , and also anime figures (one piece). i dont own any resins yet or hot toys but soon...
I tend to collect empty cans of things that are "pretty" design-wise (some of the new monster energy drink cans, some commemorative cans from locally produced soda, some limited cans of coke-cola, beers, etc). When I still had a somewhat good disposable income, I'd collect Bakugan (had a considerable amount of foreign release ones), Transformers toys and small anime figurines.
Whoa, your collection is already so enviable - you have so many great ones in there! I've always wanted to get into vinyl, but I don't have the space for a record player at the moment. What are some albums you're currently on the hunt for?
