The Sims 4 Reality TV Competition - The Sims Spark'd

So I first heard of this yesterday, but it's due to start airing on July 17th (US time). I think it's like a Lego Masters inspired sort of reality competition show, but using The Sims 4 instead. I'll be curious to see how much variety they get with the challenges and stories. I hope it's not just too cheesy though, as it seems to have a predominantly female cast: yay representation for female gamer nerds, but please represent us positively!

The other day when I was fucking around on the sims I was like, hm I wonder if it would be fun to do like, a Sims 4: Big Brother Edition or something but then I was like except who would vote on people to gtfo. But I still think its a neat idea if some Sims youtuber would do it or something.

Did you ever watch FunHaus's Sims videos? If you're into their sort of crass humour (i.e., their character is called Cunt), it's worth a look.

They didn't cast me because they weren't interested in watching me spend 83 hours downloading content, 5 hours building the perfect sim family and sim house, only to stop playing 3 hours into actual gameplay.



That said, this sounds really fascinating. I'm curious what different aspects there are to the competition - there's a LOT that goes into creating custom content, so is this more technical, or is this more story-oriented? At first they made it sound a little tech-y, but at the end of the advertisement it was definitely obvious they're building to at some point the teams will tell you a story with their sims...

Really the first time broadcast television has interested me in a while!

The reason they didn't cast me is because they are trying to be family friendly, and didn't want someone motherlode-ing themselves into a mansion and filling it with a harem of lovers.

The reason they didnt cast me is because who wants to watch some 30something year old cry over not being shit at actually building in the sims despite playing it since the very first one was out ;-;

They didn't cast me because I've got them dirty mods that remove mosaics

But this does look interesting! The middle bit was pretty cheesy, but I do think the Sims can have a unique and positive effect on people. I know it legitimately helped me get more comfortable with my orientation as I romanced and married the random townies of all genders.
