    Mechanical keyboards?

Thinking of changing to a mechanical one, but it's significantly more expensive than the standard ones. Any opinions?

I have been using Corsair K70 RGB for a few years and I love it.
The lighting and the clacking sound.

Ohh it does look awesome and it's good reviews all around. It's a bit out of my expected budget tho. Do you do a lot of typing on it?

I'm actually fine with my current keyboard for games, but when it comes to typing out my essays and stuff, my typos are a few every sentence. I spend a lot of time backspacing to edit my mistakes. It's way too inefficient.

Yes it definitely looks awesome and you can configure your own lighting!
I do a lot of typing on my keyboard and I do think it is easier to type with a mechanical keyboard.
Perhaps you could look at other models or other brands if this is out of your budget. I'm sure there will be one that suits you.

Since you speak so highly of it, I have to at least consider it

Just wanted to hear more opinions on mechanical keyboards as a whole. I wonder if there is anyone here who've tried a mechanical keyboard and hated it?

Being able to clean a keyboard so thoroughly is literally life changing lol. I love mine.

Do you take out all the key caps and clean them? How often do you do a thorough cleaning?

You can pop the keycaps off with an inexpensive tool (they normally come with one) and soak them. Then the rest of the board is just a thorough cleaning with canned air & wipedown.
I thoroughly clean mine every 3-4 months, and just wipe it down every week or two.

Seems relatively simple. Is there a specific model you use? And how long have you had it for?

Apologies for the many questions heh, I like to make informed decisions

I posted this before on another thread about headsets, but I am a slut for corsair products. I have one of their mechanical keyboards and I will legit never go back to a non-mechanical keyboard ever. I've had different corsair mech keyboards for the last five or six years.
