Hm. Question about trades on here

I've had this question for quite a while and wasn't sure where to put it. Sorry if it's in the wrong spot.

So: if you trade for a pet 1:1 (no usd, nc, or incentives) on Clraik, does it count as a legit trade? Of course there's always the idea of the pet you're trading for being illegit. But let's be real, most pets on PC are likely not legit anyway and you take that gamble anywhere lol.

Where do you all stand with this question? I lean towards it being a "safe" trade but you never know.

I would say that it's as 'safe' as any trade is, but in my opinion, any time you blindly swap pets without a neomail chain ingame, you run the risk of raising eyebrows if TNT ever does a reversal and starts digging into the trade further and wants evidence of something.

You can always say you discussed it on NN or the Neopets Discord, if you have to reply to them in a ticket, but it seems safer to have backup in neomail until that record would have expired anyway.

That makes sense. Because you're not breaking any rules. You're just trading on a site that isn't Neo. But it's a considerably more frowned upon site to some people to be trading on. Thanks for the info

    I personally think it's legitimate.

If you're throwing in incentives, like USD/NP/NC, then it's obviously against the rules. But the r/neopets sub has a daily trading thread, and I know many people get more luck organising trades over there than they do onsite. Ditto organising trades through the Discord or some other platform. I've done trades through here where we have exchanged mail onsite before trading, but I've also done trades where we just send the transfer without any prior interaction. I suppose it would depend on whether you plan to retrade onsite, in which case setting up some evidence might help later down the line.

Thanks for the info I've been chewing that question over for a bit lol. I agree that it is as legit as any other trade. I just know how people can be when the trade happened on a site like clraik. So I was just curious

It's the most legitimate you can get from blackmarket trading, but I do believe that if TNT had proof that it were conducted through a cheating site (e.g., PMs discussing the exchange from here) they'd still take action. Not because there were anything inherently wrong with the trade, but because they are butthurt about our community. Just my personal two cents.

One thing that I feel's worth noting, I've made one or two pet-pet trades on here, and it still doesn't always "feel" legit, but maybe I'm just super nervous about everything. There's also the matter of if you're doing it through your actual main accounts and who you trust with that (I've done it in the past and regret it even if I had no ill-effects, seriously, be careful).
