I fear this new site layout may make me quit.

It literally does not make sense for a mobile layout to be applied permanently to a WEBSITE layout.

So fucking websites out there have a mobile version and a browser version. I just don't get why TNT wants to force everyone to use the mobile layout.

NOT EVERY ONE PLAYS ON MOBILE TNT.

Customization/Userlookup/Petlookup are some of the biggest reasons for many players.

I happily do what I need to on mobile and jump onto a PC to do the other things I need.

I can MAYBE see customizing a pet on Mobile being a cool feature, but a simple app could take care of that.

It's been brought up that "feeding pets" will be easier.
Judging from how things are set up, everything will literally be the same. Just in a different format.

What I hate the most about it is that I spend some serious cash on NC to give my UCs their customs, just so TNT rips them away from me on that ugly quickref thing.

Not to mention TNT said "oh, this is not a final version, please do let us know your opinions and we'll work on that" and then post an ad containing the beta, so that means they will just keep this current thing and not take any opinions of their loyal userbase. I think this will be the final straw for a lot of players, TNT seems to think that investing on a "quick solution" to bring in more kids to the website is better than improving to actually maintain the adult userbase they already have, when we're the ones actually funding the website by buying NC/premium. If TNT thinks children will spend as much money as we do on that dying website, they're in for a big surprise.

I'm not saying toss it all to the wind and make it adult only, but cmon. You're out of your damn mind if you think I'm gonna give my kid $50 to spend on something that may or may not hold her interest for more than a few months vs me spending $$$ on something that has held my interest for 20 years. Honestly, if they want to make more money, they'll take the steps to not only keep their already loyal adult userbase, but also maybe draw in some other adults. I havent been on Flight Rising for quite some time, but I think they handled the kid player base and adult player base well. TNT could take a few tips from that.

I don't think I could have said it any better myself. Did they expect a bunch of 7 year olds to just start paying premium and for NC? I personally haven't even seen a child on this website at all.

I was very resistant to the switch from the beloved original left-hand side menu, back in the day. This is like some people in the world: ugly, basic and don't like it.

I think it's an ugly design and even if neopets is a child friendly space, we are not children anymore. That's just not appealing for me and since everybody who plays neopets that I know is an adult, that doesn't make any sense.

I'm 100% agreeing with the fact that the beta looks ugly, and it's "dumbed down" imo.

The site needs to be geared towards adults who have been there since they were children + fund their site paying for premium & buying NC.

The mobile aspect for dailies will be nice, but altering the entire site based off of going mobile is ridiculous...
That would be like this site merging to a tapatalk mobile format? Why bother having the website then if its mobile/mobile?

I'm honestly nervous for these changes because I love neopets and it's always been there to fall back on... but if its so ugly and they take away everything us adult players enjoy because "its a kid site" then really whats the point?

I'm sure most of the people on Neo feel like this. If that one girl got her account back because people started quitting premium, won't TnT listen if 80% (?) of their user base decides to tell them that we are NC addicted adults and their target audience would rather be on TikTok?

I remember a conspiracy theory back when jumpstart first acquired neopets that they were gonna do whatever they could to kill off the actual neopets.com so that they could just take the characters/worlds/IP/etc and use it for their own shit (leap pad games or w/e they do idk)

if i didnt hear that jumpstart sold it to a different company at this point i'd believe that they were taking this plan of action LOL because like
