Animal Husbandry...

As a neopets player I feel like many of us like pet sites for a reason.

As an adult I have a menagerie. Ranging from cats to pigeons.

I havent seen a thread like this yet where you could post your animals or "coops".

So figured this would be a cool idea.

Having just built a new chicken coop I will post progress photos here. I need to finish painting it and adding trim but its nearly done.

We are also getting a baby parrot in a couple weeks. So this would be a cool place to show them off and see what others are up to outside of neo.

I had a broody hen for 2 months. I felt bad because we dont have a rooster.

So I added 5 baby chicks under her one morning. They're about 2 weeks old now.

I can't keep animals right now but at my home we have Shetland ponies, chickens, rabbits, and cats. Also some koi carp if those count. xD


Mom is also trying to get some bee colonies in her garden. There's already a few nearby tho, so might be hard.

I only have my cat who you can see in my avatar. I currently really vibe with city living, and kind of see myself staying for a while, but in another life I could see myself on some big piece of land somewhere and having goats and chickens and a couple dogs. My cat is a one-cat-household type, but I know these types of places tend to welcome in the wandering barn cat, so I'd try to set them up a nice place. I like snakes and reptiles, too, but I'd have a hard time with needing to feed live prey and that would be a whole different kind of setup.

I just have cats and dogs, but I enjoy hearing about other people's critters!

I'd really like to have a goat for milk, and to help maintain my lawn (LOL), but we live in a suburban area with a strict homeowner's agency.

Chickens would be fun BUT our roommate has a husky who would absolutely love to eat some backyard chickens. (Also the homeowner's agency.)

Please share your adventures though! Your coop is awesome!!

I would love to have chickens. I worked at a livery yard and they rescued battery hens, who got to live out the rest of their life roaming 20 acres of land. I only have a dog and a horse. I did have a cat but she passed away last year. I'm currently at university so the place we rent is pretty small, but as soon as I get somewhere bigger I'm definitely having all of the animals XD

we have 2 little dogs and a large outside guard dog. I made a custom dog kennel bed and kennel bench.

Ahhhh I love your chicken coop and your chicken! I want to get chickens so freaking bad but we just can't accommodate them right now. I have to make sure I have a nice secure area. We plan to build a fenced area to put their coop in for them to explore safely we just haven't done it quite yet.

We also have two large American Akita and they both have high prey drives so it kinda sucks. That's another reason we haven't gotten chickens yet because they both would just kill them. We love our dogs though and wouldn't trade them for the world. One is named Duke and the other Myabi!
Then we also have 2 ball python, 1 mouse, 2 rats, 5 tarantula, 6 hermit crabs, and a couple big colony of cockroaches c:

I'm also curious what type of parrot you're getting XD I watch a ton of parrot vids on youtube and would loooove to have one some day, but their diets and social needs can be demanding I guess! I also watch a lot of bird training videos. I simply adore African Greys <3

I love seeing all the pics of ya'lls critters!!! And I love chickens!!! I wish I had some now. I used to own several bannie (bantam) chickens and some goats when I lived at home with my parents. They had a "mini farm". Right now I only live on 1 acre of land so I only have dogs, a cat and a rabbit. My little girl wants a horse and some dwarf goats. I would love that!!!
