pc known vs. pc uknown ucs

Hi everyone!

I just wanted a little bit of help or guidance maybe
Are there any particular benefits or disadvantages to both pc known ucs or pc uknown ucs for integrating a bought pet into your account?

I'm thinking I'm likely to buy in the future (and have bought in the past) but yeah I just wanted to know your thoughts?
There are some things I can think of already but would be great to hear if one is better or not kind of thing

if you are active on boards and all, a pc known pet could be a easier way because people will see the pet in the account and assume you traded, but if you are not active on boards, it might get you outted by someone tracking the pet, so in that case i'd prefer a unknown pet

PC known if:

• You're PC active
• You might want to trade the pet around in future
• You have general onsite presence (you participate in the BC, active in your guild, etc) which might have crossover with nosey PCers
• You don't mind people stalking the pet and mailing you questions and offers

PC unknown if:

• You're not PC active (or even better, not board active)
• Intend on keeping the pet 5eva
• Don't want to field questions from nosey people

PC unknown is safer if you're a hardcore lurker; people can't stalk the pet if they don't know it exists. PC known is safer if you're active on boards, people will have seen the pet around and just assume new owner rather than be all *eyes emoji* where'd you get that vwn T7 that's still slightly dusty from its 11 year slumber on someone's forgotten account

These are only general rules though, I break them all the time... Carefully

PC known seems generally preferred if you plan on posting on the PC often or being active on the boards because they tend to report pets they haven't seen. Sometimes they report pets they have seen/do know if they want to check legitimacy or if the pet has moved accounts, though.

The only advantage of pc unknown that I can think of is that they *might* not be on someone's stalk list. The UC itself may have faded into obscurity due to a combination of factors like how long the account has been inactive, name popularity, color/species — but that's not necessarily guaranteed. Personally I buy unknown. I usually only lurk the boards or sometimes post on the NC board (when I do, my active is converted) so I prefer having relatively unknown pets just in case someone comes looking. Neither option is particularly safe imo, just because there's always a risk /:

Ironically, the one legit uc I have got reported when I moved it to a side and got frozen, but I sent a ticket and they unfroze it. The really annoyed me, still kind of does, and it was years ago.

Idk if that helps - maybe it was super obvious - that's just how I think of it. I haven't bought too many pets and luckily I've been pretty safe thusfar. The pets I buy are pretty things for me to look at, sometimes I want to flaunt them but I suppress the urge lol.

I'll definitely have to consider which route I end up going down

My last uc i bought went completely under the radar and i was pretty active back then so clearly there's an amount of luck involved too but i think from what i've read i'd probably go pc unknown so i don't have to draw unecessary attention to myself if the pet's being stalked by someone

If you aren't active on the boards, PC unknown is great because it somewhat limits the amount of eyes on the pet, but like someone else said, there might be stalkers because the PC is full of crazies. PC known is great if you're on the boards because its suddenly not a new UC popping up for the PC to glom onto. I think it would also depend on the tier and name format too. Even VWN low tiers can get through with little to no suspicion because they're a dime a dozen and I don't think too many people would give you a rough time for a VWN UC Dari Lupe vs a VWN UC Dari Ixi.
