Re-releases began in summer of 2014 and seemed to follow every season re-releasing seasonal buyables. Then in 2017 they re-released dyeworks, and the others followed based off of how well received the dyeworks caps were. However, some re-releases have been much more successful and didn't tank values as much as they do now. In the beginning they were very limited in time for release and had limited edition items in them as well. I believe only the first two had LEs.
While the thread is predicting what items will become valuable/popular - this tidbit is items I'd hold off on trading for and would trade off if you aren't attached to it.
Whoa that's a lot of information, thanks for putting it all together! I was looking for some dyeworks of popular items and was surprised that they're valued 1-2 caps, maybe that's why!
As someone said earlier, event album items are pretty much a guarantee to inflate, especially since many people aren’t playing much anymore so these items aren’t in huge supply. These items fluctuate hard for the first 6 months or so that they are available and level out after 10 months or so. It’s almost always worth it to buy one or two of them when they come out so that you can album one (if you want) and let the other rot in your SDB.
