Exclamation [GUIDE] Plushie Tycoon - Easy Avatar + Gold Trophy

Always wanted to get the avatar and gold trophy in Plushie Tycoon?

Finding the guides out there very hard to understand and vague?
Well, let me tell you that the notion of "building whatever plushie you want with 3 or 4 rolls of cloth" is bullshit.
This guide will show you how to earn an income steadily, easily and how to win the game.
*One thing I've never understood is, Plushie Tycoon doesn't even have a high score table, why do PT old players like to "hide their secrets"?
Well I'm going to share these secrets that I've painstakingly uncovered in the journey to get the gold trophy.

Follow this guide step by step and I guarantee you will win.

A little background on the game to understand it better
Plushie Tycoon is a business game that runs a month with the starting date being ~3rd of the month and ending on 30th~31st. The same way you work 8 hours a day, the entire factory-warehouse-shop-sell process only runs for 8 hours (9am - 5pm) and 7 days a week. There are a total of 8 refreshes and they happen at xx:01 past the clock so (10:01, 11:01, 12:01, ..., 16:01, 17:01). Changes to your game ONLY happens during those refreshes (completed jobs, plushie sales). Raw Material prices change once per hour as well, but this timing is different for everyone (some could be xx:40, some could be xx:16 etc) so you have to find your own timing. You start off with 50,000nps and will buy materials to create plushies, pay rent for your factory, warehouse and shop, hire workers to build your plushies, hold them in your warehouse, ship to your shop, sell them, get taxed and make upgrades to your shop. It's a full month of repeating this process till you make a shit ton of money at the end for the trophy, OR go bankrupt and lose (and have to restart). In this guide, I'm not teaching you to have 50,001 at the end to get the avatar and the measly bronze trophy. I'm offering you a 100% solution for the avatar AND the chance for the gold trophy (if you fully understand my guide).

Step 1: Set your game time
The moment you click "Create your shop", you should go to the Main Page and set your time zone. Set the time zone that allows you to be online the most during the entire 8 hours of the game. You can use (you need an account to see links) to select a timezone which suits you.

Step 2: Pay your rent & upgrade
Take note of the day and the time that you start your game (for taxes and rent). Pay your rent for your shop (1350), factory (980) and warehouse (940). You should have 46,730nps left. Go to your shop after you've paid your rent and click on Upgrades and Advertisements and get the first three levels of the first three items.

    UPGRADES
    Carpet - Standard Carpet (735)
    Lighting - Gas Lanterns (1320)
    Store Security - Anti-Theft Tags (1830)

    ADVERTISEMENTS
    Flyers - Stickers (840)
    Gifts - Dry-Erase Boards (975)
    Candy - Jelly Beans (1200)

You should now have 39,830nps left. You NEED these upgrades, or else your plushies WONT sell.

    Step 3: Buy Raw Materials
This is the tricky part. Other guides tell you to buy green cloth, neocotton, rare gems and paper bags right? And all that crap about build 6 if price is under 3,900 and build 8 if price is under 2,900. The prices of plushies fluctuate when they're selling (45nps - 100nps) and sometimes they take 2-5 updates to sell out. BUT there is this thing called the Super - where your plushies are selling between the range of 100-110 nps. These plushies sell out in 1-2 updates. However, supers can be any of these plushies out there and it changes with updates. However, there's this plushie called the Super Stable which sells for 100-110nps ALL THE TIME. If you talk to old PT players on the boards they'll always tell you to go "experiment with different builds, cloths and plushies" but it's bullshit. There's only 1. And it's the Ogrin. It uses 6 rolls of cloth so it costs more than other plushies, but they sell more and they sell fast.

So there are a total of 4 things you need to buy to make a plushie - Cloth, Stuffing, Accessories and Packing.

When you're starting out, buy Yellow Cloth, NeoCotton, Rare Gems and Velvet Bags. How do you know how many to buy? Simple mathematics.

Deduct 12,000 from your 39,830nps (this will be for other payments in future) = 27,830nps and divide this number by the cost of 6x Yellow Cloth, 1x NeoCotton, 1x Ogrin Rare Gem, and 1x Velvet Bags. If this number is 4 or more, buy the maximum number. If it's 3 or less, WAIT for the prices of raw materials to go down. (Try to find out the exact minute xx:xx your raw materials change prices and check back every hour)

    Example
    6 Yellow Cloth (351), NeoCotton (593), Rare Gems (2595), and Velvet Bags (1316) = 6610nps. 27,830 / 6610 = 4.2 so I will build 4 sets. Therefore, in total I will purchase 24 Yellow Cloth, 4 NeoCotton, 4 Ogrin Rare Gem, 4 Velvet Bags.

Step 4: Load Your Factory & Hire Workers
Once you've bought your raw materials, head to your factory and start adding new jobs. Make them in batches of 100. So if you've bought 4 sets, you should start 4 jobs of 100 Ogrins. Reason being it is quicker to finish 4 x 100 jobs than it is to finish 1 x 400 jobs. When you load a total of 4 batches of jobs, you will need to upgrade your factory and this will cost another 980nps (included in the 12000 you deducted). Factory expansion is in a factor of 200 plushies. Meaning if you want to do 4 x 100 jobs, you need a level 2 factory, and if you want to do 8 x 100 jobs, you'll need a level 4 factory etc. Shops, on the other hand, is in the factor of 400 plushies, meaning a level 4 shop can stock up to 1600 plushies. Prices of upgrades, as always can be referred to in (you need an account to see links).

Head to your Personnel page and start hiring workers. You have 1 lone Manager who's always there that you can't fire. So in total you will need to hire 24 Managers, and 250 Trainees. This is the optimal amount of workers that you'll ever hire. So once you've hired 24 Managers and 250 Trainees (You will have a total of 25 Managers and 250 Trainees), go ahead and set this as your Default Workforce (so you never have to click and hire separately again). This will cost you 5,550nps (deducted after the update).

Once you've started your jobs and hired your workers, it's time to wait for the next update. You will only hire your workers for ONE UPDATE. Once it hits the next update xx:01 - check your jobs. About 75%~85% of your jobs should be done. *Example - if you made 4 x 100 jobs, 3 x 100 and ~85 jobs should be done. This is fine. Now go to Personnel and fire -> FIRE ALL WORKERS. The number 1 reason people fail and go bankrupt is because they FORGET to fire their workers. So always always remember to fire them.

However, you will always be unable to fire that 1 last manager, and he will cost you a total of 82nps x 8 hours daily so remember that.

Step 5: Wait for Your Warehouse to Load
Now it's the waiting game. You can take a look at (you need an account to see links) for the warehouse loading times. Set your alarm according to your warehouse loading time (eg. 3 x 100 plushies and level 1 warehouse = 3hr 27min to load). Once it's loaded, you need to TICK THE BOXES, and ship them to your shop. This will take 5 minutes so set another alarm for 5 mins and come back to see them in your shop. Shipping takes another 278nps per 100 plushies but since you deducted that 12,000nps before, this should be part of that and you should have plenty of cash on hand.

    Step 6: SELL YOUR PLUSHIES
Once the plushies have been loaded into your shop, all you have to do is WAIT for the next update. Yellow Ogrins are the SUPER STABLE, which means they will almost always sell between 100 ~ 110nps and will sell out in 1-2 updates. I say almost always because sometimes they go above the super price and end up taking more updates to sell out. This means that every single time you update your shop you'll have your cash back and you can start buying raw materials to build again.

Once you get along in the game, you'll realize that the yellow Ogrins sometime fluctuate quite a bit. Once you have enough money and are stable, move on to the blue cloth. Blue Ogrins are much more stable in the range of 100 ~ 110 and does not increase as much as the yellow ones.

    Step 7: Rinse and Repeat
The easiest part of the game is actually to get used to this routine and keep rinsing and repeating, buying raw materials when they're cheap and building plushies because you've already conquered the hard part - selling plushies FAST and at a high price. At every update, you should be getting at least 30,000nps back - use this amount to make another 4-5 batches of 100 plushies as well as upgrade your warehouse FIRST. Always remember to keep 5,550nps for workers, 278nps x batches, and another 656nps for your lone worker (82np x 8). (Remember that sometimes the lone worker gets added into the 5,550nps as well)

Once you start raking in cash, upgrade your warehouse to the max (level 9) FIRST so that your plushies ship faster = allowing you to make more builds in a day. Thereafter, max out the upgrades and advertisements in your shop, and thereafter start expanding your factory and shop. Ultimately, after you hit 100 x 18 (max factory capacity) you can start making larger batches everyday (200, 300, 400 each). But always always always double check first before spending the money - all you have to make is 1 mistake and you'll go bankrupt, ending the game.

One thing I've noticed about expanding your factory and shop - when you expand your factory, you pay the expansion cost up front, pro-rated to the amount of days left in the week. However, for a shop, it only increases the rent that you will pay for the following week (but you pay nothing at the moment of expansion). Not too sure if this is a bug or not but it works in our favor! Do take note of this when upgrading/expanding.

In the beginning, you'll always want to check the prices of raw materials and build if you have enough to make at least 4 batches. However, once you have more cash on hand, and you're done with your upgrades and such, you'll still want to build even if profit is low. Let me give you an example.

If your cost of materials for 1 set (6 cloth, 1 stuffing, 1 accessory, 1 packing) is 8000, and you make 3 sets = 24000. Add that in with your shipping 834, labor 5550 and you get 30384. Your selling price, let's say it's 105 so you get a total of 31500 which means a profit of 1116. Low right? But you STILL BUILD. Because getting a profit of 1116 - lone manager per day (656) = 460 profit is still better than paying him without any profit (-656). I hope that clarifies.

Keep extra money for rent & taxes every 7 days
Now, the reason why I asked you to take note of the time and day you start your game is because you have to pay rent (every 7 days) and tax (every 7 days at the time your game started). Always take note of your rent that you have to pay (can be found on your main page) and make sure you have enough cash on hand when your rent day comes - because if you are unable to pay your rent on time, you have to pay late penalties. After 48 hours of not paying, you will be evicted and your game effectively ends.

For taxes, you want to try NOT to pay taxes (because it adds no value to your game, as per in life hahahaha). But nevertheless, you do not need to pay any taxes if your cash in hand is under 50,000. So whenever it's nearing your tax day, always load up your factory with jobs BUT don't start them. Which means buying as much raw materials as possible, filling up your entire factory BUT never hiring workers. You have to properly calculate your cash on hand to include your rent (factory, warehouse, shop) and workers to hire after the tax man comes and goes.

The other way to do this (especially if you have TOO MUCH COH) is to do as many jobs as possible and load up your factory BUT not shipping them to your shop. Just keep making jobs upon jobs (100~1000 each) depending on how much money you have to invest and how much time you have till the tax man comes. This way, you can ship your stock to your shop within 5 minutes if needed.

Keep this up for a month and you'll see yourself with the gold trophy and the avatar.

Plushie Tycoon is an extremely fun game and it helps you to understand the business world just a little bit more.

I hope this guide has helped you a lot!
Now go out there and earn some moolah.

If you need a little bit more help you can check out the (you need an account to see links) I made to help calculate things in PT

If you're looking to get to the maximum prize, which is 2m plushies sold for 320k neopoints, you're gonna have to learn about cascading, which I have also figured out but I was too lazy to test out. So maybe one day when I actually test it out I'll write up another guide xD

    1. Timing Glitch

Your game refreshes/updates at xx:01 every hour for the 8 hours of "work" BUT this timing gets pushed forward 1 minute every day. So eg. Monday xx:01 for all 8 hours. The next day it moves to xx:02. This happens across the entire server so everyone faces this. To find out if it's happening in that month, check the Plushie Tycoon board in the Games Chat. The reg players there say it.

Another part of the game that has the time glitch would be when your raw materials refresh. As you probably already know (and I mentioned in my guide), the timing for your raw materials' price refresh happens at xx:xx, a totally different time from the game update. So if your raw materials refresh at say xx:38, then it'll refresh at all hours of at the :38th minute. But of course, there are some hours of the day where it won't be refreshing. This, too, gets pushed back by a minute everyday, also following the previous time glitch.

    2. Over-buying Glitch

This glitch is the ultimate fucked-up glitch. This affects all early players because it makes you go bust. If you purchase 10 x Cotton, sometimes 1 click makes you buy 20~30. This is entirely random and sometimes appear during certain months. It seems like it's an issue with the code that TNT is just not bothering to fix or look into. So people just live with it. The only way I can see circumventing this issue is to be slow in your clicks when you're just starting out.

Once you have more than 500k on your COH you can go without worrying. (Because the maximum amount you can buy per click (50x) is less than the COH you have.

    1. Max warehouse
    2. Max factory
    3. Max shop upgrades/advertisements
    4. Increase workers (1:10)
    5. Increase batch productions

There is a perfect combination between number of workers and batch productions to do this thing called cascading. (eg 100 managers and 700 trainees and 300 graduates for 400 x 9 batches) From what I've heard from many people, it takes a long time to get to the near perfect build, and many of the older players have the secret, and are constantly switching around to try and find better combinations. That's up to you to find out should you wish to get to 2m plushies sold for the final prize.

But that being said, if you're just looking for the gold trophy and avatar, and just wanna see how far you can get, just follow the 5,550np workers build and keep making the same amount of plushies (100 x 9) every hour. Invest whatever you earn back into more plushies. It's the most consistent and constant way to get to the end. Of course, do not invest everything on the last day, and make sure you have enough COH to have the trophy you want.

This guide is so awesome!! I wish I read it before starting my game. I kinda figured out about the Ogrins from eliminating by trial and error but I used green cloth instead of yellow. Gonna do a build with yellow the next update and not waste my time building the other plushies.

Hopefully there's still enough time left in the month to hit the 1mil mark for the trophy.

Thanks again for this super clear and easy to follow guide.

    You're very welcome! ^^

Green cloth for Ogrins are fine too, but sometimes they might be under the price.
Apparently blue cloth for Draiks also sometimes hit the 100-110 range AND they're cheaper (only 4 rolls)

There has to be a lot of trial and error and sometimes you can make a lot more profit doing other plushies as compared to Ogrins. But I wanted to make a fuss-free guide for people to follow easily so I suggested Ogrins.

There's still a lot of time left.

I've seen some people make 2.5m nps at the end of 6 days.

So if you do it right, you'll be able to get it without any problems.

Fantastic! I was building a mix of lutaris and draiks and they were in the 80-90NPs range and they took forever to sell (only selling between 10-15 units per update). Will try a mix of blue draiks and yellow ogrins & report back

Alright! I think end of the day blue ogrins still sell out the best. But if blue draiks are within the price range then it's definitely cheaper to make blue draiks!

    Wow the guide is excellent!
I already got my avatar a long time ago and a sad bronze trophy. Next time I will try to follow your guide and go for the gold trophy. <3

I knew about 98% of what's in your guide but in my game it would never work, my plushies would never sell. Now that I know about the Ogrin, I'm going to try it out again.
Yep. I went through many many different boards, forums and posts just to find out these information so I really hope that it helps everyone progress together in neopets ^^

And big thank you to everyone for your thanks and +reps!

It makes me want to continue to make better guides.

I have a few more ideas for guides that either have been mentioned before (I'll update with more info) or have not been shared before so stay tuned for that!!
