MMEs typically stop sales before they start morphing, so unless I'm mistaken it was always supposed to leave the mall today, it just morphed a bit before it did.

Yes but the sale was supposed to run through today and start morphing after it left the mall so if someone logs in now thinking they can buy it, they are out of luck. Happened with the Festival of Neggs NC portion recently, too.
