I recently signed up for CBS All Access just to watch Star Trek Picard and Star Trek Discovery. I was really impressed with both, especially Picard. I didn't think I was going to enjoy it since I was really never a fan of STTNG. After enjoy those, I decided to dive in on Netflix and try Star Trek Enterprise. Again, it was a surprise. I liked Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap, so I figured what the heck. It isn't the best of the Trek shows, but it's watchable and gives some history to the rest of the franchise.
Can you break down the order one should watch Star Trek in if they've never watched it? That and Battlestar Galactica, I don't know where to even start.
A good article which explains both the suggested order to watch, and the release date order.
The movie franchise changed when JJ Abrams took over (known as the Kelvin timeline). The first movie in that franchise is suggested to watch in the article.
If you don't want to go to the article, here's the suggested viewing order:

‘The Cage’ (Star Trek: The Original Series episode)
Star Trek: Discovery*(seasons 1-2)
Star Trek: The Original Series*(seasons 1-3)

As to Battlestar Galactica, I can't help you there, as I only watched the original series.
I am i cant say big fan, as i dont like the old ones, but Star Trek Discovery was awesome, and Picard was pretty good, other than that nope i dont like other version
What the hell lol. I feel like I've been living under a rock because I always knew about Star wars machete order of watching it etc. But never thought that star trek would have something similar. Impressive how someone even figured that out across all the series and movies the franchise has!
I enjoyed all the TV shows except Star Trek the Next Generation. I think it had to do with Picard being such a stickler to the rules. There was no grey area with him - everything was either black or white with no in-between. I was glad to see he mellowed a bit in his old age in the Picard series.

I was quite impressed as well. I don't like all the films or ST The Next Generation (except for the Klingon-centric episodes), but if I get really bored, I might just give this sequence a try.
I'm a huge Star Trek fan. I started watching the series with captain Picard so they are my favourite. Can't get into captain Kirk, sorry And didn't like too much the next captain. But it was so long ago and recently I watched the Picard series again, they don't age too well. Haven't seen the Star Trek: Picard yet but it's on my list.
Yes! My OH is a trekkie and we recently watched Picard and Discovery which I loved. Now he has started me on next generation and we are already on Season 2 within 2 weeks XD
