So thankful for the friends that I've made on-site and off. They've gotten me through real tough times. Neo has been apart of my life for so long and Ive met so many amazing people.
i stay for the nostalgia reason. i also like the community a lot, chatting on the boards makes me relax my free time. i also miss a big event like a war or a plot. they used to be fun.

It used to be the BD and a great friend. But nowadays I just keep training and staring at my pets.

customizing! i love dressing up my pets! unfortunately it feels hard for me to find a solid community with neo because everyone seems fake imo
but thats why we have the ck community! i joined fairly recently but ck is one of the things keeping me on neo :)

Customising, character development, page/profile coding, chatting with other Neopian character builders, haha.
Plus, it's a great escape from my irl depression.
Even as a kid I liked building up my account. I wasn't necessarily good at it, but I was okay for a tween. Participated in events, did some restocking, tried for avatars. I liked the aspects of the site that provided a reasonable challenge. Stamp collecting was always a little too much for me, though.
Now I stick around mostly for nostalgia, but I do still like working on my account a bit, earned some new trophies now that there's less competition.

I couldn't agree more, it seems a lot of people who play neopets suffer with mental health - I have depression/anxiety and was recently diagnoses with autism, but I am definitely not the only one, anyone I reach out to has experienced similar stuff themselves. I find sometimes online communities are are crutch for people who are suffering, it allows them to reach out in their depression without having to mask it or drain themselves for the sake of others!
This resonated with me a lot. Apart from the enjoyment and satisfaction I get from working on my pets and account building, I think Neo is great because it unites people on one very 'unique' platform (lol). You can find many people to talk to your MMORPG stats/achievements about with, but there aren't as many people out there who will want to talk about your Neopets! We definitely have our own "site culture" going on, and despite its ups and downs, I'm glad the site community still exists today and hope it continues to remain relevant.I loved the neopian slang and phrases we adopted to communicate with one another - like we had our own culture.

art
for some reason neopets has been the only thing that will always get me drawing
...for 20 fucking years
any time i have a lapse in creativity its just time to log back into the old neopets and doodle some of my precious babies
also to add onto that - just everyone being so nice and positive on the art chat and makin me feel all warm and fuzzy and like people appreciate me♥
and also the second best thing about neopets now is that i can buy the pets i want and have my ultimate dream account
