What are the biggest mistakes you've made on Neopets?

Getting into customization.. rip all that money

- Saved up 11 mil for a Krawk. This was not enough. Then the Forgotten Shore opened, the prices started dropping, and once they hit 11 mil I immediately bought my Krawk MP. Now you can buy them for 100k and I'll never get that 11 mil back.

- I got my first UC (Grey Eyrie) in exchange for a Halloween custom. Then I traded it in 2012 for an FFQ. rip.

- Also I caused a ton of drama within the PC when I was 13 - 14. I think that's all I can say without outing myself, but it's pretty embarrassing in retrospect.

I quit the site forever when I was around 16, and I gave all my painted pets to one of my friends. I don't remember all of them, but I remember two: a grey ixi and a plushie scorchio. Good names too, 6 or 7 letters, easily pronouncable. All of these were pets I'd created and painted myself, because I was such a power user back then. So about a month or two after I sent her my pets, the site underwent conversion and all those cool pets suddenly got much more rare. I came back to the site another month after this, and I wanted to ask for my pets back so bad. But the girl hated my guts by then because, again, 16 years old.

The real kick in the groin is that my main account outlived all of hers, so I would've still had those pets to this day if I'd been just a little bit greedier. Instead, all those UCs are now on ice. Pour one out.

Back in the day I saved up for a Baby Paint Brush (I was 10/11yrs old so this was a BIG FAT ACHIEVEMENT), and I found a user willing to sell me one a bit cheaper than TP.

Can't remember the full story, but for some reason, they couldn't put it on the TP. They put up a couple items in their shop priced at 99k and asked me to buy them. After I purchased, they would send me the Baby Paint Brush.
I had a terrible feeling that it was a scam, but my friend irl at the time told me it seemed ok. We read over mails from the user and they "seemed nice" so, they must not be a scammer, right?
I decided to listen to my irl friend.

So I bought the items from their shop....and guess what? I was never sent that Baby PB.
I cried so much that night.

I gave away a ton of NC items, some highly valued, thinking I'd never use them because they didn't fit what I thought would be my permanent pets at the time. I don't own those pets anymore. Some of those items are back in my closet. And the more I read the "What gets under your skin?" thread, the more I can't help but wonder if I'd given anything to any of the notorious ... personalities from the NCC.

Now I just hoard things like a dragon, regardless of how they fit my pets.

Never really made big mistakes in Neo, mostly mistakes in trusting.
Used to buy neopoints and had them sent to my main always till one day my main was frozen.
I learned and had neopoints sent to a shell always
