Anyone coming back after 10+ years?

Its so weird to see how little things have changed! What do you miss about old school neopets?

I honestly just miss how active the game was. Literally every community on Neopets was absolutely filled of activity from BD to AC to Gourmet Club to Book awards to NT to BC. Trading and selling items was just so much more easier and faster in all categories too.

For me the Meridell vs Darigan war plot (late 2002 - early 2003) was when Neopets was in its absolute prime. Everyday you wanted to read the news to see what new stuff TNT brought to the site. New items and content were constantly being introduced to the game which is a shame compared to today. Id argue we get less now than before and that was nearly 16-18 years ago. RIP lenny conundrum. RIP random contest. RIP interesting war plots. RIP BD. RIP cool items being released into the game.

Definitely miss how active it used to be too. Those Neoboards would be so much fun and I'd be on there chatting all night. I remember the Meridell - Darigan war plot too. I think I first started playing just in the lead up to that. Wow, those were the days eh.

Im just getting back into it now after about 4 years off, and there were two years off before that. Overall, I’m only getting into it for the nostalgic effect, and don’t know what would draw new players?

I’m interested to see this update I keep hearing about that will move the site away from flash, but we’ll see...

I miss the old TNT. I miss Droplet especially. The new staff is irksome. I miss not seeing copy errors in the New Features and the NT editorial

And the small things, like Bilge Dice.

Mostly i miss that the boards used to have friendlier people. The last few years the quality of the people on the boards is just absolute crud. Neopets was like my first social media/forum experience.
Its harder to make friends, and people just seem to ghost you after a few mails. I started in late 2007 so i experienced a bit of the conversion and the nc mall opening. I do enjoy customization. I honestly dont play neo for the people anymore. Ive accepted the fact that we dont get content as much, but i was always shit at the games and plots anyways when i was 10.

I miss the small things, like staff checking their code for typos and errors before making things live.

I miss the larger community and when guilds were really really active...
How it was hard to restock, how prices were high, how meager were resources back at that age.
I also miss all those yearly war plots..

I played from 2002-2013, then left and now I am back there is so many pound chats and new neo words I don't even know anymore, especially like new trading words in NC mall xD

i played religiously from 2005 to 2012 and although it is a lot more quiet now on the boards i don't miss all that commotion at all. i think it's a lot better now. but i do miss all the plots we used to have yearly, the events that take place nowadays are a bit dull and with no excitement. i remeber how we used to make petpage applications just to have a chance getting a pet we wanted now i got all my dreamies almost for free. it used to be a status symbol to have all your pets painted now paintjobs are cheap and uc pets is the new status symbol
