I didn't sleep last night, apart from one measly hour, so we'll see how that manifests later in the day when I inevitably nap for far longer than is probably healthy
I fell asleep listening to a podcast last night and I guess I could still hear it? Because I dreamt I was on a panel with the hosts, theoretically being part of the podcast. They were saying what I assume they were actually saying and I kept trying to contribute but they’d cut me off and keep talking, which makes sense because the podcast continued to exist in real time lol. Super strange experience - I love that weird hint of the real world while I’m sleeping but it rarely happens.
I can't remember my dream but it was one of those dreams where you suddenly fall through a bridge and as soon as I hit the ground BAM I'm awake and feeling like I've just had a heart attack
Never understood why you get dreams like that :/
I don't remember what I dreamed last night, but I desperately tried to wake up. I remember trying half asleep to pull my arms up and saying to myself "get up, get up" while trying to wake up. It took me good 10 minutes and when I finally was awake I was so tired and exhausted from trying to pull myself out of my dream. That certainly was a weird experience.
Last dream I remember I had, I was at a comfy house playing games, surrounded by a bunch of cats... Can't say I hated it and I can 100% picture this as my future tbh
Does anyone else have weird recurring themes in their dreams? My nightmares usually involve deserted shopping malls where the stairs and floors keep shifting and I can't get out. Oh, and the mannequins come to life. UGH. Or weird abandoned houses that look like they were left yesterday, but give off an uneasy feeling.
Other weird things that keep happening are escalators that are way too steep to be logical. And they're super long. These escalators seem to either be in shopping malls where I can't get to the floor I want to, or I'm at the airport and running late.
Oh, and another weird one is being on an endless fun park water slide, most of it being in a tunnel and intersecting with other slides.
Then another one is either incredibly high mountains with villages built into the side of the rock, or a lava landscape void of all life.
I used to have recurring dreams about a specific part of my neighbourhood where my family and I would go on walks. Or you know when you're dreaming and you just know that this weird and nonsensical place in your dream is a specific place in real life? I get that a lot with cities. They always seem to be a medieval grid-style center, with a wide main street with a big dining hall thing. Oh, and there will be a river with complicated bridges overlapping each other.
Sometimes I get really brutal and gory nightmares, I won't describe those. Have never watched a splatter or gore movie my entire life, so I don't know where these images come from.
Anyway, my most recent dream I can remember was in Rome, where I was being chased by an army or something. Being chased by people and having to hide and being found is another theme that recurs very often. I usually like those dreams because they're quite fun. Like hide and seek, but on a much bigger scale.
My recent dream was this, sans typos and caps lock from when I initially wrote it at 2AM.
I was apart of some sort of rock band as an assistant or something. This band would also sell wigs out of the same building they performed in. I remember wanting to buy a very good quality wig, specifically one with pastel dreadlocks (I'll blame browsing Amazon for crochet hair for this). The wigs they were selling were... bad. As in, "not maintaining your singles or locs for weeks" bad, pretty gross. Someone was supposed to be able to sell the higher quality wigs if a customer went into Karen mode. However I never got taken to look at the higher quality stuff.
I think the band was also planning to move out of the building they performed in, as many things were wrapped up in tape and newspaper. I remember at some point things weren't covered like this. The band was especially happy that a TV that was installed vertically in a hallway was now covered. Otherwise this TV was somehow attracting the kids of rich assholes who would all crowd in front of it, and make it impossible for people to move through that narrow hallway. Said rich kids also would keep loitering and their presence was off putting to any potential customers.
At some point the band got scolded by their manager for making a glass display case fall on top of him(?). He was pretty pissed, and told them "You had better not do that again! Because I'll know if it falls on someone without killing them that you're responsible."
...My dreams have always been a bit of an acid trip, but I noted in my caps lock notes to my friend via discord that this particular dream sucked.
I woke up to the sounds of military in-fighting. I was stuck in school--well, the place I went to for elementary. We were all locked in. A group of us tried to sneak out--but I was the only one who made it out safely. The others were wrestled back into campus, but not before I was handed two bags of weaponized...powders? One was corrosive when mixed with any liquid, including human sweat. The other just made my skin really irritated. I'm not sure what they wanted me to do with those packs of powder.
Access to the outside world was very restricted, so I tried to make my way back to my neighborhood via the local mall, which was closed down and nigh-deserted but was unlocked. It was maze-like inside, and I woke up before I could make any significant progress.
