Anybody been watching this on Netflix?
It took me a few episodes to get into it
What are your thoughts? Ive never played the game that the series is based on

Tbh.... I love it, Henry Cavill is a perfect Geralt of Rivia
I'm a massive fan of the game and can't wait to give the show a go!
Spoilers until ep 3
Disjointed thoughts ahoy:
I agree with the majority of Fabulous' points..
On top of that I personally thought the special effects were pretty lacking, but that could just be me being overly critical.
I mean, it's decent and amusing enough I suppose, but I was hoping for better. A lot of the script felt... stiff and made me cringe. Idk.

I absolutely love it! Big fan of the books, glad to see the game and show successfully adapting the same level of cringe. The timelines were a little confusing at first, it's been a looong while since I've read the books and the hints weren't that apparent to my thick skull, for a while XD
I do think there are a handful of things left to improve, but I also think we'll see many of these improvements in the following season.
I like the cast and character development as well, video game Ciri was a tad too bland and didn't resonate with the books at all (for me, at least), as did Yen!
Alsoooo:
Is anyone here looking forward to the Wheel of Time adaptation? Figured it'd be a similar crowd of fans - I really hope it will at least be on par with the Witcher production

My husband tried it out to see if it would appeal to me; he says that it's too fantasy/magic compared to the games, so I'd be bored. He also said that there is female nudity but not male, which annoys me in shows. If shows feel the need to include nudity, it really should be both. He showed me

I haven't gotten to that scene yet but can confirm there are female titties liberally bouncing every episode but we've barely gotten a glimpse at man titty, much less anything else. The bath scene was mostly shoulder
Anyway, this thread made me watch ep4, with the following reactions:
If you read the short stories that the first season is based on, the apparent disjointedness of the episodes makes a lot more sense. I just wish that they had some captions when transitioning between time periods.
Overall, I'm looking forward to the second season!
