Recent Movie, Streaming or TV Binges?

Came here to recommend Squid Game as well! Finished it yesterday, it was quite good. Reminded me a lot of Alice in Borderland, but so much better!

I also started this today. My husband and I always enjoy horror/thriller type movies, especially those with survival, gamefied and puzzle elements. Enjoying it so far, though I really don't like the protagonist. Reminds me too much of my own deadbeat dad.

I saw the previews for Squid Game last night and it looks quite interesting. I may check this one out next. We just finished the last season of Lucifer. I highly recommend the series. The first two seasons are great season 3 and 4 are meh then Netlfix took it over for season 5 and 6 and you can really see the improvement. So if you can push through season 3 and 4 it is quite a good time.

We are currently working through Manifest which gives me a bit of a Lost feel.

I really only watch anime on netflix anymore but I've been watching saiki and cells at work lately. Both are amazing but I wish saiki was dubbed past season 1. And I'm kinda salty at netflix for not continuing the dub after buying it off funimation. We're 3 seasons in. I wanted to binge while doing other things but I don't speak Japanese so I can't do both at the same time ;-;

We just watched Midnight Mass. Without spoiling anything, I really enjoyed it.

So everyone has been bringing up Squid Game.. grabbed my partner and was like "Look, we have to watch this, you in?"
So here we are, five episodes in and hooked. I can't wait for all of us to finish it and be able to talk about it!


That said, if anyone here is watching and enjoyed Squid Game i recommend the movie (you need an account to see links). It has a similar theme and darker tone, worth the watch!

Not Netflix, Amazon Prime instead, but I just re-binged all 8 seasons of Dexter to hype myself for next month's long-awaited season 9.

The season 8 finale (which was also the original finale for years) is just as bad as I remember and I am so excited (yet cautious) that we get more.

Husband and I finished Squid Game last night.

IT. WAS. SO. GOOD. We watched it all in the course of less than 48 hours, which for us with our work lives and whatnot, is very impressive!

I think next we are going to start Midnight Mass. I also need to start season 3 of Sex Education, but I feel like I never have time to sit down and watch TV anymore :p I just gotta make the time like I did for Squid Game :p

I blew thru squid game, I couldn't put it down I HAD to see how it ended. I recommend also for anyone who was on the fence on it. I put it on at random before I heard anything about it, I am glad it got a lot of notice!

I'm two episodes into Squid Game and liking it so far! I heard there are some inconsistencies with the translation for the dub vs for the subs (and consequently two different sets of captions), so I'm already low-key considering going back and rewatching it after I'm done.

Probably gonna pace myself to just 2 episodes a night (or like 1-3 averaging at 2), but we'll see what happens tomorrow when I can stay up later.
