I watched a few episodes of The Umbrella Academy on a flight yesterday. I re-read the first comic series beforehand and I kind of wish I didn't because it's different enough that it's throwing me off a little, but I'm enjoying it.

I started watching the Elisa Lam doc on Netflix but had to stop because idk. I agree with the general consensus of the true-crime community when it comes to that.
I'm not currently watching anything on Netflix but I got discovery+ and have been binging 90 Day Fiancee and let me tell you, the three seasons I've watched so far are a fucking RIDE.

Currently binging Firefly Lane, better than I expected. I don't generally enjoy Katherine Heigl but shes fantastic in this. I think the continuity is done well too and consistent with the year its been set in (E.G the really chunky xbox controllers).
Also curious about the Hotel Cecil netflix doco and see discussion about this above so I will read back! I remember seeing that creepy video on youtube so many years ago now, don't know if I want to watch a whole series about it though.. seems like a crazy hotel all round.

Finished The Umbrella Academy and really enjoyed it. Veered from what I remember of the comics (skimmed them in preparation, but they didn't really stick). I recently found the handwritten list I used to keep on my TV stand of shows I've been meaning to check out. It kept me from endlessly scrolling recommendations by having a non-device list to reference. Hoping to get to some of those soon. Shows include Fargo, Six Feet Under, Dark, The Young Pope, The X-Files (I've seen a lot of it, just never all the way through).
[edit] Forgot to ask, if anybody has recommendations based on these, I'm all ears!

Yeah, I had a similar issue. Like, the show was fine but I feel they got rid of some interesting elements from Vanya's story in particular for more sibling whimsy.
I'm really enjoying Snowpiercer right now. We've binged the first season and we're almost caught up. The only thing I miss is the presence of Tilda Swinton. She really made the film adaptation.
@(you need an account to see links) I've also enjoying Snowpiercer and agree about Tilda Swinton! I'm a couple episodes behind right now just due to my schedule, but I do miss being able to binge it.
I just finished my first ever Netflix binge. I'm kinda not huge on the service in general, but I saw they have that show there - Fauda - which I remember watching the first season of around 5 years ago. So I binged the 3 seasons on Netflix and it was fun.
I remembered a bit from S1 but it was still a good binge, and the other 2 seasons I never seen before were good as well.
