Hi everyone, just wondering who else loves Christmas as much as I do? Anyway, I'm planning a trip, and hopefully I'll be able to go to Prague for Christmas 2019. Been dreaming of going there for years.
Anyone who has experience with Christmas in Europe, any awesome suggestions on where to go and what to do?

I don't like Christmas that much lol but I do go on vacations because I have time off then.
Two years ago I went to Navarra, Spain where my family is from. They have a dinner and a nice festival at night. Not as big of a city as Madrid or Barcelona, but it was fun seeing all of the nature around the city and the castle as well.
I've never really been on vacation so to say, but Christmas is one of my favorite time of the year ♥

If you find yourself passing by France, I highly recommend giving Strasbourg or Colmar a visit!
Strasbourg is quite renown for it's Chrismas scene, if you like Christmas markets and stuff like that - it's worth checking out, even for a day!
I personally prefer Colmar during the holidays, it's smaller and a bit more low-key, but makes up for it with that historical charm and gorgeous scenery :] And there's a cool market as well!
Born in Christmas and I hate it. But can tell you good places with nice lights (doesn't matter if we like it or not, we have to see it) and some of our traditions are interesting. All places mentioned are in Portugal.
There are huges fires called Madeiros, the Madeiro in Penamacor is a must see. Penamacor is also called Vila Madeiro because of this. Madeiro are supposed to be burning from Christmas eve to New years eve.
bidos is a great place to visit. It does a lot of events in the castle during the year. Christmas is not an exception.
In a lot of towns you can see a present or christmas ball made out of lights.
when i saw your topic i felt like walmart's anticipated christmas sell in my country HAHA, they start to put all the christmas stuff in july or so

It is July. Stop it. Haven't even seen the Halloween stuff out at the stores. Never been to Europe during Christmas, but my buddy went and we just ended up getting drunk and playing GTA Online with massive ping because London area is apparently boring during that time.

Christmas isn't coming so soon. Still have five more months to go.
Anyways, I went to the UK two years ago. There was a lighting ceremony at the centre of the town. The lights didn't turn on imediately after the countdown. That half minute was pitch black and people was booing. That wasn't very exciting, lol.
The months just seem to pass so quickly to me now. Will be here in no time and feels like it was just here. Slow it down! Haha. It feels so even more especially since a few of my channels had Christmas in July month with Christmas movies all month long. Yet I don't even get a full month in October for Halloween type movies.
If you're down with creepy christmas stuff, I would recommend one of the Kraumpusnacht parades/festivals around Germany and Austria. Perfect for those who enjoy both christmas and halloween
