I really don't remember, I really enjoy Jotho a lot because we can walk with our Pokemon
Through other people, technicality it was Blue that was my first game. I didn't really get to own and play through a game for myself until Silver.
Probably for the best, Gen I mechanics are whack.

Pokmon Red, it wasn't what I was expecting because at that time graphics were far better than that but I became addicted fastly. Then I discovered Pokmon Green Leaf and I fell in love of the franchise.
Might be a bit late to this post, but the first version I played was Pokmon Red on a brand new Gameboy Color.
The memory of that day still remains fresh. Good times, very good times..
Pokemon Blue on the Gameboy SP! I remember spending so many elementary school nights trying to beat the elite 4
Pokemon Gold. Recently bought HeartGold lol, for the nostalgia
My first pokemon was red version! I have alot of good memories trying to stay up late at night huddled next to my night light on my gameboy with no backlight trying to play without my parents knowing haha Gen 1 still has a special place in my heart. I go back and play it every few years.
Pokemon blue! I've loved pokemon ever since it released in the west.

Yellow was my first! Though by time I played it, Gold and Silver were coming out, so they were all pretty close to one another.
