when I was 8, I used GBA to play Pokmon Gold. However, at that time, it didn't have any translation and I couldn't even go through the first GYM

Red. I was apparently 12 when it came out, though it feels like I was a lot younger.
I remember getting Nintendo VHS tapes in the mail advertising upcoming releases, including one for the Pokemon games and anime. Was pretty hyped for it.
Don't remember anything beyond that, though, besides using a Game Genie to catch Mew.
First one I played was Leaf Green on No$GBA when I was really young. I saw my older brother playing it on his PC and asked him to set it up for me lol
OG Silver
The new Switch game Let's go *cough*
I got into Pokemon through the anime and Pokemon Go xD
I think it was crystal or silver/gold, I then got my hands on Red & Blue.

Blue. I had a subscription to Nintendo Power at the time and the Pokemon insert comic piqued my interest. Bought it at a department store the very next day.
If all else fails, use fire.
Ruby on my GBA
Blue. I've been bullied throughout my time at the elementary school, so of course they bullied me because everyone else chose Red... The game was still great though, had a lot of fun. Last Pokmon game I had was Platinum. After that they became too far-fetched and modern.
Diamond. My cousin who is from Canada helped me to install it. Since I was really stupid as a kid, I have no idea how the trading system works. I gave my very high level Empoleon to my cousin but what he gave me back was his low level Empoleon. I kept asking him to give my Pokemon back but he ignored me and he flew back to Canada the next day. I dont know why I was so upset back then.
