As Neopets user, where do you lean on the political spectrum?

appreciated! i know it makes me look like some 'weird hippie' to most people, but you've got it about right. all any of us here are out to do is live comfortably. it's a red state, so we're a bit of an oddity, but the neighbors came around once they realized we weren't out to start, i don't know, protesting outside the gun shop.

soapboxing: i'm of the mindset that living well according to your ideals is the best way to prove that a set of beliefs actually works. shouting other people down just makes them dig in harder because they feel attacked. �\_(ツ)_/� lead by example.

Damn right. Yelling at and insulting people only makes them more grounded in their beliefs. If you wanna change the world, you gotta live by your own ideals and show people you're just a normal person like everyone else.

My mother is very left, my father was very right. Myself, very much in the middle. Neo didn't really have any influence on my political ideation. I believe everyone should be free to make their own choices so long as they aren't hurting others. Everyone should have the same rights as any of their peers. I also believe we (in America) should have far less government involvement in what's "best for us". Let people own firearms, get abortions, marry whoever they want (except kids or animals that's gross), and make whatever decisions you want pertaining to your personal pursuit of happiness and freedom. Collect rain water, build your own home without permits and bullshit, grow marijuana, etc. You get the point.

I'm an independent who leans to the left. In neopets, and all other games for that matter, I'm a pure capitalist trying to find ways to exploit the system.

The downside of neo to IRL comparison is you can't really "contribute" to making neo a better place per se. I'm a fairly leaning leftists but i understand the economic (not social) stand points of the right. But in my ideal world money wouldn't exist. I watch several anime's that have this concept and absolutely love it! It'd work IRL if everyone could "contribute" to society in their own way that essentially "justified" their place in society so taht they could walk into a supermarket and have earned their groceries for the week. In neo you have to be capitalist beacause you can't go out and make art, or program computers, or make papa johns, or pick up garbage, or be a doctor to help make neo a better place lol. I'm a pretty self identified scholar and wish the world was just about living learning and having fun without having to focus on money or dumb hatred (which i blame mostly on religion and lack of education/world travel) but in realitiy it'd be very difficult to make this come to pass but fingers crossed that UBI is a step towards its!

Neo didn't really alter my views, although it's exposed me to a lot folks from both extremes.

I dislike big government, but want to preserve ALL life.
