Sorry to gravedig but I just went 1m into this and didn't even get it. The pet I adopted from the pound was 27 lbs. Went a total of 16 tries and nothing.
Every single time he's full - full - full.
I'm not sure if I should continue trying or what... D:
Pet is "very bloated", in the lodge, and fed with 4 items amounting to 60,400 in the restaurant.
I even adopted a Lupe, for that matter, because of the tip that was at the start of the thread.
All 16 tries led to him just eating and nothing about a leftover. The address in the address bar says end2 (full) and never end1 (which is leftover)
Anyone has anymore ideas on what other things I can try?

Hopefully, not so silly ideas:
- I trully recommend to switch pets if you didn't get it in the first try. Don't have any good reasons, but, I'd just feel like... trying to do things a little different (if that makes any sence)
- (While the pet is still in the NeoLodge)Did you try taking him to the Movie Central and/or The Golden Dubloon and feed him there before going for the avatar?
- Make sure he's not having any more food via inventory either

Gonna try and get a 15~17 lbs pet today from the pound! Thanks for that!!
I was just reading and there were people who got it with >100 lbs. Some even got it with a pet that was dying, and even Kelpek said it was random.
I'm just so annoyed that I spent 1m - just wanted to rant!
Perhaps it also helps to feed a really heavy item to a grarrl for instance?
just a stone bed or so for instance. i once did such a thing and that pet didn't go hungry for the next few months.
So if you could find a heavy cheap item and a light grarrl perhaps this works in your advantage?
first feed it the heavy item, then to the neolodge, then to the theater and from there on to kelp i'd suggest for this.

Light Pets are usually posted on "Avvie Pets in the Pound" boards. Maybe they can help you find one.
So an update - I just adopted a light pet at 15lb to give it another shot.
I did the same thing, fed till bloated, lodged it and fed at the popcorn center till it became "very bloated"
Went 3 tries into Kelp and now I'm almost at 1.5m invested into this avatar. It's the most avatar I'm trying for so far :\ (and it's not even stamps!!!!)
So the only thing I have left to try would be transforming into a Lupe (based on the tip in this thread) and to try between 12:30pm ~ 1pm NST.
I'm not too sure about the grarrl, but I'll transform into a Grarrl and give that a shot if the other 2 methods don't work.

i wish you good luck, of course it remains random in the end i guess.
The grarrl was really to have a pet easily really full up cause it can eat anything; no other reason why i suggested it and haven't tried it myself either so really just keep it as a last result i guess.
