i'm sure pretty much everyone heard gingers are dying cause they have to be 2 ginger parents to breed a ginger so basically the genes are running out.

Well, my hair is dark, but in the sunlight there is a slight red tint in it. My hair did used to be lighter when I was younger, however - but never really ginger.
Post up a picture of yourself, let's see your hair colour.

To have ginger haid, you need someone who carries a gene enconding red hair. That doesn't necessarily mean the person has red hair though. Someone can have brown hair and pass on red hair to their child if both mother and father have a gene at a specific point encoding for red hair.
