anybody here use replacement meal shakes for weight loss?

Im looking at starting using these as being in an office job currently isnt being kind to me! And I'd like to maintain/lose some weight.

But there are so many brands out there! My mum uses slimfast but its 90% sugar and horrible ( doesn't look like it gets any results)

    Does anyone have any recommendations?

i recommend making your own!!! avocado, nut butter, hemp seeds, chia, cacao, coconut milk, etc. all prepackaged stuff is either full of nasty crap or extremely expensive. it's not hard to mix up your own healthy concoction!

I don't ever have meal replacement shakes, but when I do make protein shakes, it's usually simple.

    1) chocolate pb -- 1 banana, peanut butter (1 or 2 tbsp), 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder, 8-16oz almond milk, and ice
    2) berry shake -- frozen blueberries and strawberries (1.5-2 cup), 1 banana, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 8-16oz almond milk, and sometimes more ice

    Best of luck!!

I did a cleanse program a few years ago that useses shakes and other replacements and it did work but I was so hungry that I was just a massive grouch to everyone.

Honestly your bet bed is cutting out poor foods and if you want to do shakes for convenience make your own out of real foods and not processed powders. You’ll like not be a hangry little person like I was if you do it that way.

I found shakes to be a poor choice for me because I felt ripped off at not getting to eat real meals. When I lost 35kg after Eevee, my key replacement was konjac root. I had noodles/rice made out of konjac root (such as Zero, Slendier etc) instead of the usual grains. It was never as satisfying taste-wise, but it gave me the illusion of still eating 'normal' meals, while having like 5 calories/serve of the 'carb'.

Shakes aren't great, and for the most part not cost effective. Meal replacement shakes and protein powders are a poor way to spend your money. I make shakes from time to time though, I use protein powder, whole milk, peanut butter, a banana, and psyllium husk. This gives you fairly well rounded macronutrients. Honestly just cut out some carbs and you'll be fine. If you want to lose weight though you're better off doing keto, intermittent fasting, or both.

I did Optifast and lost 100 pounds from 3/2017 to 9/2017.

I've since gained it all back.

I too do Optifast. It keeps me super skinny which I like. You need to do this with a Dr. I go to the office bi-monthly. Of course whatever program you start you had better love the replacement or you will not do it. I love the Vanilla Optifast drink and I have been on it for years

Ive used them before when I was bodybuilding but it was mostly whey protein shakes.

I'd have 3 of them a day to supplement by '6 meals a day' (small) but in addition to a shake I'd have some almonds, nuts, veg, or something else to help fill me up.

Def kept me lean and healthy in addition to 3 other 'meals' throughout the day.
