edit: wait, i lied. the scariest thing i ever saw on neopets was finding out that a girl who was pretty well known in the NC chat was shot and killed by her own mother. it was all over the boards and all over tumblr for a couple days. i don't remember her username, but this happened within the last two or three years. i still think about it, and for a while i would check her lookup to make sure nobody got into her account. it was heartbreaking watching the days last seen just go up and up.

Oh wow I do remember that! Before she died, she had a board on the Customization chat up, everyone bumped it for months with flower and heart smilies.
