MGK dropped a diss song about Eminem and it's kinda crazy. Nobody has had the nerve to try and attack him for well over a decade. How do you think this will pan out?

Let's not forget what happened to Ja Rule...

I love MGK but damn, that's a scary thing to do...Eminem is a lot older and subdued than he used to be, maybe this won't end violently?
Is that what like toy soldiers was about? I vaguely remember him talking about a beef between 50 Cent and Ja Rule in that song.
Edit: Why does everyone who disses Eminem have to bring Hailie into it, she was just born into this shit, kinda sucks.

Eminem released a number of diss tracks towards Ja Rule, two major ones being Hailie's Song and the Hail Mary remix. Eminem has been involved with many in the music industry where there was drama/beef, including with Mariah Carey... and he's ended/tarnished all of their careers.

That's wild, remember when Mariah Carey was like the biggest pop singer on the earth? I didn't realise that Eminem was her downfall.
I never really understood diss tracks, like, they made sense when it was Ice Cube and NWA, but randomly complaining about another rapper/singer in a song always seemed weird to me (I'm looking at you, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, no one cares about your backup dancers)
To make a diss track against someone actually requires you to study their past/present. Find their flaws and dive into making a track that makes fun of this person, usually to an extreme. With so many people listening, being your audience... you can understand why some artists just fall off, sometimes never coming out in public again (Ja Rule for YEARS)
Some notable diss tracks I recommend listening to:
Hit 'Em Up - 2Pac (Easily one of the greatest and most violent rap diss tracks to ever come out, he also aims his words at many other artists in one track... I'm not sure if this was ever done before this song)
The Story of Adidon - Pusha T (I thought Drake's career ended after this. My jaw hit the floor the first time I heard it... but Drake was smart not to respond)
Who Shot Ya - Notorious BIG (Biggie's response to Hit 'Em Up)
Ether - Nas (This one is up there with Hit 'Em Up. Jay-Z was hurt from this one... and I believe Nas won the long standing beef with this track)
Dollaz & Sense - DJ Quik (This is probably before your time, but MC Eiht's career = over. I still play this song when I'm controlling the music at a party )

Thanks for the list, I'm listening to them now.
The story of Adidon is interesting because Drake didn't directly respond, but Scorpion itself feels a bit like a response in his admission to having a child with her and everything like that, kinda like he realised he fucked up and then owned up to it.
I've never heard of MC Eiht before but it's from that interesting time when rap was really finding its feet, so it's nice to read about the origins like that.
There is a rumor floating around online suggesting that Scorpion was actually an album that was going to be about Drake having a son (big surprise) and he would be on the spotlight. Adidas even made a deal with Drake to promote their brand using his son. That never ended up happening because Pusha T is a motherfucking savage.
If you didn't know, a Scorpion will mate with another female, but they will run away and never interact with that female again. This is basically the meaning of the album... he knocked up a porn star. In the song "I'm Upset" which released way before Pusha's diss track, one line "can't go 50/50 with no hoe!" says it all.
Pusha T's diss track made Drake completely change the theme of his album. I'm going to guess he had tons of lyrics he had to change.

That's wild, I didn't know that about scorpions. It'd be an ultra scummy thing to release an album about too, I really hope he has more sense than that but I doubt it XD.
I was really looking up to him like, good on you for owning up but now I don't know what to think ._. he's still my favourite rapper, but this definitely gives me something to think about. (I'm also a huge fan of postie because he reminds me of myself in a ton of ways, maybe he'll be my new favourite )
