My SO named our cats Mykonos and Spanakopita, Mykonos is a greek island and Spanakopita is a greek spinach pie (he's a Greece-fan), but their names are too long so we just call them Mocos and Pita
(Fun fact, Moco means Snot in spanish)
My rabbits name is Mocha <3
We also have a dog named Koru, several cats (Willbert, Hobbs, Onyx, Kiki, Mr.Bean) and a snake named Anakin
Sorry to hear about your Shepard though and I hope the (eventual) new pet brings a new chapter of love

I have a 2 year old Black Lab by the name of Chase.
He will eat ANYTHING. He's cost me more than both of my children already(surgeries to remove a full corn cob etc)
Toby!!!
He's a mutt. Half angel, half baguette. A mix of tan and white fur, around the size, head shape and fur pattern of a Jack Russel Terrier, but just.. off brand.
Here's him taking a little nap behind the bathroom sink

Lyrichord (06-08-2021)
My cat is named Lyra for a few reasons: 1) astronomy/constellation name 2) ancient Greek in origin 3) His Dark Materials... and there are a few more reasons that I can't remember off the top of my head. It's also short at only two syllables and it just... fits her personality. She's a very sassy girl and the queen of her domain.
Gratuitous cat posting:

I have a few dogs over here. They are all large standard poodles who love to think they are humans and want to be on the ✨couch✨.
But I digress - over the years I have preferred to name my dogs human names from the 1900s to the 1960s. You don't see too many Arlenes, georgettes, Eugenes, Roys, etc in the world today and it's makes them more unique.
