Who or what about Neopets do you like or appreciate?

I know they get a lot of hate, but I've had some interactions with some of the Merchant + people lately that have been some of the nicest people I've met on Neo in a while. One user in particular (buckeyes2014) helped me a lot with finding some items to finish my gallery- even mailed me a few weeks after he sold me one of the items I needed to let me know he found the other I was looking for. hey_mars and sportsagain have always been really kind too.

I don't know if anyone remembers from the Avatar Chat in the 2010s? She lent SuAP to a lotttttt of people. I think she got it by winning some kind of contest? I really can't remember but she got it legitimately. I was lent in 2011 and still think about them today so like, yeah, if you're here, thank you and I appreciate you!

Also I think their SuAP ended up getting stolen at least once. People can be so hateful man.

i guess this applies to the site as a whole, but sometimes i think about the people that got into stuff like web dev/code stuff, art, writing, and hell, even economics or something because they were so invested in it on neopets and decided to take it a step further and now they earn a living from it.

one day you're trying to make a page to tell everyone your gelert's dark backstory and now you're designing websites for clients? you wanted to win the BC so badly that you drew all the time and got even better and now you're a comic illustrator? because of a virtual pet game that peaked in the early 2000s? that's fucking incredible??

i'd like to think that it's still going on, even with the current state of the site, but even if it's not, i still think that it made a difference to a lot of people that played.

To the user who neomailed me saying my item was missing a 0, even though it wasn't a lot of NP (under 10k), thank you for the kind gesture. The NP does all add up and they could have just bought it and resold it but it made me happy they still looked out for someone even if it wasn't a lot of NP nowadays.

One time I posted a customization from DTI I had made on the NCC to search for the items, and the user gifted me one of the items and helped me find trades for the final items I needed and celebrated with me when I finally completed the customization. They said they loved it so much and wanted to help. ;u; This type of stuff right here is what keeps me on Neo. Just people being genuine.
