The cheer and joy of the holidays is coming to the world of Pok�mon GO, as the Delivery Pok�mon, Delibird, returns for Pok�mon GO Holidays 2018!

Starting on December 18, Ice-type Pok�mon will appear more frequently in the wild, including Jynx, Sneasel, Swinub, Snorunt, Spheal, and Snover! Certain other Pok�mon are also getting into the festivities—you might see holiday-ready Pok�mon, such as a Pikachu wearing a festive hat, until January 2!

What’s celebrating the holidays without gifts? Pok�mon such as Smoochum, Azurill, and Munchlax will have a greater chance of hatching from 7 km Eggs, so show your friends you care by sending them special Gifts! In order to help with hatching during the holiday season, Trainers will also earn a free single-use Incubator once per day via spinning a Photo Disc on a Pok�Stop until January 2.

To keep the celebrations coming, there will be plenty of bonuses throughout the event! From December 18 to December 22, Trainers will be able to enjoy double Candy for catching and transferring Pok�mon. Then, from December 22 to December 26, earn double Catch Stardust to help power up your Pok�mon! From December 26 to December 30, earn double XP when you catch Pok�mon to help you reach a higher Trainer level before the new year! Finally, from December 30 to January 2, Incubators will be twice as effective. Make sure you check in regularly to take advantage of all these exciting bonuses!

It’s time to put your research skills to work and collect Field Research that looks closely at a certain Pok�mon species -- let’s do some Limited Research! While the Water-type Pok�mon Feebas may not look like much, there’s plenty to learn about the Fish Pok�mon! Spin the Photo Disc at nearby Pok�Stops to obtain Field Research tasks that lead to encounters with Feebas. And, if you’re lucky, you just might find a Shiny Feebas! See more details below:

Feebas migrate quickly during Limited Research, so exploring is key! As long as you’ve collected the Limited Research during the event window, you can complete it at any time. Don’t forget: you’ll need to venture onward to many Pok�Stops in order to get new Field Research tasks and encounter as many Feebas as possible!

Pok�mon originally discovered in the Hoenn region will appear more frequently in the wild.
Field Research will highlight Pok�mon originally discovered in the Hoenn region.
Raid Battles will include Pok�mon originally discovered in the Hoenn region, such as the Legendary Pok�mon Kyogre and Groudon.
Pok�mon originally discovered in the Hoenn region will have an increased chance of hatching from 7 km Eggs.
If you evolve Shroomish into Breloom, it will know the exclusive move Grass Knot!
You’ll have a chance of encountering Shiny Zigzagoon and Shiny Taillow!
New avatar items inspired by Team Magma and Team Aqua—the original villains of the Hoenn region in Pok�mon Ruby and Pok�mon Sapphire—will be available in the Style Shop.

Pokemon Go Lunar New Year
The Chinese New Year welcomes the year of the pig. Appropriately, Pokemon Go will have a special event focused around the pig Pokemon, Spoink!

As with other Pokemon Go special events, bonuses, more likely Pokemon spawns and a chance of a shiny variant of the headlining Pokemon are the main features.

Bonuses
The specific bonuses for the Pokemon Go Lunar New Year special event are as follows:

2x Catch XP
2x XP when evolving Pokemon
When trading a Pokemon, there will be an increased chance it will become lucky
Take advantage of the increased likelihood of receiving a lucky Pokemon via trade. Remember, lucky Pokemon can cost up to 50% less to power-up. This means a big saving on Stardust!

Date and Time
The Lunar New Year event has already started! It started 30 minutes after the event was announced.

The duration of the event is 9 days and will finish on February 13, 1pm PST.

Pokemon Increased Spawns
There are 12 Pokemon that will appear more frequently in the wild during the Lunar New Year event. They are Rattata, Ekans, Mankey, Ponyta, Electabuzz, Dratini, Mareep, Miltank, Torchic, Poochyena, Spoink, and Buneary. Their significance to this event is each of them represent the Chinese Zodiac.

Furthermore, with it being the year of the pig, shiny versions of the Pokemon spoink will appear in the wild!




Thanks to this new event, any time you open the Mystery Box through March 4, you'll now have a chance of finding a Shiny Meltan in the wild. You can tell the Shiny variant apart from a typical Meltan by its slightly darker head and blue (rather than red) tail. Moreover, Niantic has reduced the time you need to wait to open the Mystery Box by three days, allowing you to find Meltan much more quickly than before.

Trainers, a special Friendship themed mini-event is taking place in Pok�mon GO this weekend, from February 8 to February 11, 2019! The event bonuses include: Friendship increases twice as fast all weekend, Double Candy received for each trade and Trades need only half the regular amount of Stardust!

Pok�mon GO's April Community Day will feature the Psychic-type Pok�mon Abra. This event starring the elusive Psi Pok�mon will take place Saturday, April 25, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone—three hours longer than a usual Community Day!

Abra will show up in the wild much more frequently during the Community Day hours, and there's a better chance that Abra you encounter will be Shiny. Plus, if you evolve Abra into Alakazam during the event or up to two hours afterward, the Alakazam will know Counter, an attack that it normally can't learn.

If you have a Buddy Pok�mon that has a Buddy Level of Great Buddy or higher, it'll bring you helpful items throughout the event, such as Pok� Balls. And if you want to stock up on more supplies, there'll be a special April Community Day bundle in the in-game shop featuring an Elite Charged TM, 30 Ultra Balls, three Super Incubators, and three Incense for 1,280 Pok�Coins. This bundle will be a one-time purchase only.

Additionally, Incense activated during the event will last three hours, and you'll receive three times the usual Catch Stardust.

This month, there's also a new twist to the Community Day experience. A Community Day–exclusive Special Research story titled Investigating Illusions can be unlocked in your game for US$1 (or the equivalent in your local currency). Complete it to earn 13,000 Stardust, a Poffin, a Rocket Radar, and other rewards. Stay tuned for when tickets go live!
