    Pokemon Leaving 3DS

(you need an account to see links)

This is pretty big news. The main series games have always been on handheld (GB, GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS........) and from the sounds of it, the next games will be on the Switch.

Personally, I am pumped for this! That means they can accomplish so much more with the power of the Switch hardware. If you haven't seen the new Zelda, this is the potential:

Time to start looking for Switch deals.

Kind of a bummer that I'm gonna have to buy a whole new system just to play pokemon but I am excited to see the possibilities on the switch!

Switch is well worth it. I overpaid for mine on eBay earlier when they were sold out everywhere. There are so many fun games (mainstream and Indie games.. I usually dislike Indies if that says anything). It is well worth the investment and it is obvious Nintendo plans on riding with the Switch for a long time.

Major 3rd party titles (while currently ports) are coming BACK to Nintendo after leaving in the Wii/Wii U days so it isn't all just hype. There is actually a lot of good things going for Nintendo/Switch.

I haven't played since Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby but if the graphics look like that... might actually give it a try lol. Now I just need to get a switch lol

Man I haven't owned a console in years but I would absolutely buy one just to be able to play Pokemon with these breathtaking landscapes and 3d graphics (❤_❤)

I am super down for this.
I bought Moon and didn't enjoy it very much. Slow paced and the graphics were great, but everything seemed to take so long.

The Switch is b-e-a-u-tiful. I'm really excited for it and hope that they move toward an open world concept.

I'm excited! It's gonna be weird going back to one screen after utilizing two of them for so long, but they started out on one and I'm sure they have tricks up their sleeve! (Plus - D/P remakes on Switch? Heck yeah, give me that comfy aesthetic!)

I can't say I mind too much: I'm already getting a Switch for Splatoon 2, after all, because I'm knee-deep in squid hell and don't expect to ever find my way out.
They've done a lot of fun stuff on the 3DS with the Pokemon games there, so it's just a step up in possible potential, in my opinion. A lot of the stuff I've seen for the Switch is gorgeous and responsive as can be, so I'm looking forward to it.

It does make me wonder, however-- how are they going to handle VGC?

I'm a regular attendant of the Madison Regionals tournament every May-June, and all matches there are done in person.
There are purely online tournaments that allow participants to earn points for their ranking, but it's not quite as significant as attending Regionals or Nationals yourself.

The Switch is perfectly portable, I'm aware, but its battery doesn't seem to be quite as long-lived as that of the 3DS: the 3DS tends to have at least 5 hours for it on a full charge while the Switch doesn't even reach that. Unless they have a significant hardware upgrade to give the Switch a better battery, or they manage to make the upcoming main series title/s a lot less draining on the battery, it might be pretty annoying to battle in person..

Oh wow! So it's evolving into a more landscape version of pokemon now instead of hand held...Cool concept. I think it be better in the long run since most games are more like live mmorg games like Battlefield or Halo.
