[Suggestion] Administrators/Moderators add info/link guides to reputation/thanks to their siggies

I was just thinking that if all moderators had a small banner/image that linked to the how to give rep guide in their siggy it would help to get the word out to newer members about what reputation is.

There are quite a few people here on cK that have been here a while and, in my opinion, deserve to be at least an official clraik rank just due to their community engagement and conversation.

Could be an image that maybe says something like,

"Did you find a post insightful?
That script or program kick ass?
A guide help you find your way?
A member help you in game or real life?
No matter the age of the post think of +repping them today!"

This way its just a one time addition to a sig, can link directly to the rep guide, no mods have to really go back and think about bumping the board, and it is a frequent reminder about rep and that rep doesn't need to only be given for programs used and guides made.

Shoot, I'm no mod but I would happily use that image/banner in my siggy without a doubt

Well I suggest this to be moderators only because it could be considered a grey area in regards to asking for rep. Like it is passive aggressive. But if only moderators had it in their siggies it looks more an official reminder.

Users are definitely welcome to include guides or explain rep in their sigs, as long as they don't ask for rep itself.
If someone makes me a pretty (pink) banner explaining rep, I might throw it in my sig

Dude if I had a wicked looking purple banner reminding about rep I would have it in my sig too. Thanks @(you need an account to see links)

Maybe I will make a ghetto looking one in paint as a R.I.P. to paint though lol.

(gonna be the party pooper as usual but) I personally wouldn't do it, people don't read anyways...
I'm pretty sure new members are automatically directed to a few threads that help them understand how the forum works, you still see the same questions being asked over and over.

That is why I suggest it be a banner image, when you constantly have something in your face eventually you might investigate it. When you first sign up to something like needing to view TOS, you just scroll through it and get rid of it so you can get to the good stuff. But if you are reading a post or an article you really enjoyed, and then while scrolling see a banner about +rep it is a reminder that +rep is there and people are more likely to think about it and do it.

    Its called marketing

I mean, it's an interesting suggestion but I feel like when people have that in their signatures it makes them look like they are asking for rep themselves. Like... Hey look at my posts and give me rep, deal?

Bumping and linking new members to certain threads is usually sufficient I suppose. Some people are very involved but you don't get rep points simply for being present. You get rep power, you can get posts, etc etc. That's how I look at it at least.
    What's my definition of success?

Giving more when you got nothin' left

Perhaps we should focus on getting the word out a little easier... but I apologize, because I won't be forcing staff to put anything in their signature. The idea to me sounds controlling. Sorry but I won't be approving this! I appreciate looking out for our members and I will bring this up with staff.

As @(you need an account to see links) said, we have always looked down the act of referencing reputation in members' siggies as it just looks like they are asking for it.

We do have @(you need an account to see links) bumping her Rep topic every so often, which is stickied.
