Fuck no that is awful. The first song to pop in my head was like a stone when I read this even before I opened your spoiler.
Edit: And it was rules a suicide too
Taken from Wikipedia:
I was shocked to hear someone say this today at 7 in the morning... He just came back to tour with Soundgarden and they were selling out all shows. He was only 52 years old.Chris Cornell (born Christopher John Boyle; July 20, 1964 – May 17, 2017) was an American musician, singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist, primary songwriter and rhythm guitarist for Seattle rock band (you need an account to see links) and as lead vocalist and songwriter for the group (you need an account to see links). He was also known for his numerous solo works and soundtrack contributions since 1991...
I grew up through high school/college listening to Audioslave and just recently started listening to Soundgarden. Really sad.
A playlist if anyone is interested...

It's always sad to lose someone so talented so early, much more when it's a suicide Imagine how many years more he would've had to share his talent and music if he had the right support and help in his life. A shame indeed, may he rest in peace.
Sad to see. Suicide seems to be a common death amongst musicians.
i love luna
This makes me so sad. I vividly remember being introduced to Audioslave and being amazed with Chris's vocal abilities. He truly was and is a music legend and will be missed dearly.
It makes it even sadder that this was a suicide. From what I understand he was in good spirits just hours before on social media. It shows you that you don't really know what is happening beneath the surface.
RIP
Aura loves me ♥
Accelerator's cK gma :')
This is really sad. I'm a grunge enthusiast and he had a great meaning into the movement.
Saddest part is knowing that death's cause is suicide
I only just saw this thread after posting about him in a separate one. My favorite piece of Chris Cornell trivia is that, while he "only" naturally had a four octave voice, he would intentionally wear his voice out during shows and before recording in order to hit a higher, fifth octave for his last few songs. Supposedly it helped contribute to Chris' rough, raw sound.
I have no way of verifying whether or not it is true. But I do know when you start to lose your voice you can hit higher notes, and I like the idea that Chris was so committed to the music as to put himself through that kind of discomfort in order to sing the way he felt a song should be sung. He was certainly talented enough.
RIP
It is so sad hearing this. I still can't believe that it happened
I had the chance to see him at Carolina Rebellion 3 weeks ago, but my boyfriend and I were exhausted from little sleep and a 4.5 hour drive that morning. May his beautiful, talented soul rest in peace.
