I made a Eurovision thread back in 2013 (That's 4 freakin years ago? What the fudge?) and I figured hey, I love Eurovision, why haven't I been making one every year?
Anyway, Eurovision 2017 will be held in Kyiv (Ukraine) and this year's slogan is Celebrate Diversity.
Last year, a record-breaking 204 million viewers worldwide watched the contest, beating the 2015 viewing figures by over 5 million.
Thoughts?

oh damn it's that time again.. i swear i feel like just last month i was watching the last one.
this year's theme is celebrating diversity...? hasn't this ALWAYS been their theme lmao... i'm still bitter they're letting non-eu countries into it tbh >:'(

Technically they aren't banning Russia from the contest, they are banning Russia's contestant, Yulia Samoylova, from entering Ukraine. She toured in Crimea after the Russian annexation in 2014. I mean, I get it. It's pretty much a spit in Ukraine's face by sending a contestant with her history. On the other hand, it feels as if Russia could've sent anyone and Ukraine still would've found a way to ban them from entering the country. And it all sucks because Eurovision is the time of the year we set aside all our differences and unite through our love for music.
