I just wanted to share..
I feel so blessed to be able to work at a Veterinary Clinic. I've been studying to be a veterinarian for about 5 years now, but I recently started at this new Clinic. This cat was living outside for his entire life and I thought he was close to death. I brought him into my clinic thinking I would have to euthanize him, but it turns out he just has hyperthyroidism. When I brought him in he was covered head-to-toe and fleas and was ripping out his hair. I just feel so blessed that I was able to take him off the streets and save his life.
The girls at my clinic are so nice and we've named him count curmudgeon! The doctor said that he was probably days away from passing away. I'm taking this cute old man home tomorrow and hope to give him a wonderful life for what years he has left.
Sure breaks my heart that whoever owned him seem to not care at all about him. I feel bad for the hard life he's had, but I look forward to making it so much better.
Just thought I'd share! This is the second old baby that I've gotten to save, and I'm so happy that my clinic allows me to do so.

I lovee stories of animal rescues, that's the way to my heart. :') I'm so glad you were able to rescue this cutie and give him a home yourself. It can only go up from there for him

He had been living around my apartment for about half of the year. I'm thinking his owners just left him when they moved. I'm very glad that I was able to get him, and I'm pretty sure that old animals are the way to go! ( though don't get me wrong I do love my big Dopey puppy)

If I was able to handle smells and blood I would have totally studied veterinary, it warms my heart to read about this and how with your job you are able to help animals to get second chances in life. I support a local cat shelter with donations monthly as my part as an animal lover, I wish I could do more. Thank you for your amazing vocation and loveI'm sure that kitty is very grateful!
