If you haven't already heard about it, there is a new ancestry website for US residents that contains quite a bit of personal information. My husband looked himself up and it had his DOB, previous addresses, direct relatives (with links to their personal info) and potential contacts. This information could be used for untoward purposes, like identity theft, so it might be a good idea to have a look and decided whether or not you should opt out.
(you need an account to see links). You can also opt out for your friends and family, if you wish to.
Just thought I'd pass this information along. Might sound paranoid, but I know I wouldn't want anyone being able to look up that sort of detailed shit about me and my loved ones. Stay safe, ck.
