I saw the update post, a friend did take a pet of hers, so I do think this was real. It's too bad, she seemed kind and thoughtful.

And still, the beloved pets she was trying to adopt out are still in her account despite the numerous people offering to adopt, oh well

It seems like the pets have gone to new owners now. The person who announced her passing said that her husband passed on Caitlyns account details so the pets could be adopted out. Apparently Caitlyns condition turned terminal before she could get to adopting out her pets.
