No job right now but I used to be a Research Assistant at a very popular Polytechnic Institute. Then my contract ran out and no funding reestablished and the economy went to shit. Slowly but surely new jobs are being created though so I'm hoping to get into another University or College for Research work again. I love being in that learning culture around staff, students and faculty. Actually right now I am writing cover letters for some Research Analyst positions at a College to help offered programs run smoothly and get extra funding. So I hope I get hired onto one of those.

I was actually alluding to George Orwell creating the term in his novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. I make my year 12s study it.

I misread that as 12-year-olds and I was really confused/questioning your choice for a second.

Is there a particular field you are interested in going into for engineering?

I hope things go well for you. It sounds like a job that could be very fun in that you would travel to various places and be able to explore a lot. I'm interested in learning a musical instrument but have not yet got around to finding one I liked enough to do. Plus some cost more than others to get into.

Professional patient? Does that involve participating in clinical studies and the like?

I agree that I had a much more enjoyable time whilst I was doing my university degree. It was so much easier to make a wide variety of friends and hang out fairly often. Now that I am no longer there it is more rare to catch up as some people have moved cities/countries or we are just unable to find some free time due to other commitments.

Haha, sorry I missed that reference. I highly enjoyed reading that book. We were given The Great Gatsby as our book to study in I believe year 12 English which I didn't find as interesting.

lolol, no, that would be neat, though. I just meant that I'm not a student or employed, but I'm putting a lot of time into dealing with some health stuff I have going on.
