When is a transfer automatically cancelled?

I somehow can't access the shell I tried to send a pet to and I thought transfers that weren't accepted or rejected were automatically reverted after 3 days. 4 days later, the transfer has not been reverted and the pet remains in limbo. Was this changed or something?

I think it's usually 48 hours. I might be wrong, but I think your pet should've been returned by now.

Yes, its a 3 days period deadline. But knowing how buggy neopets is it should be at any time.

For me it was:
3 days for the transfer to be accepted/ignored
3 more days for the transfer to be reversed
