And Naoki Urasawa's Monster. Monster is amazing. His other works are great too, but I think Monster was the only one that ended up being animated.

I watch plenty of anime every season even till now, so I've got quite a number of anime on my list. But my top is still Vision of Escaflowne! It was the first anime I watched. It's a pretty old anime, but it's a mix of different genre.. shoujo, shounen, mecha, romance, fantasy. Love it!
I personally don't prefer the long drawn out ongoing anime. I don't have time to keep up with them and now it's to the point I'd have to spend a year to catch up. No thanks ^.^;
Personal favorites include FMA (both - really close to finishing brotherhood), Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Trigun and Gundam Wing. I also really like Dragon Ball Z up to the end of the Cell saga.
