Used to think neopets were meant for small kids to enjoy their childhood . But then i realised i was terribly wrong because the main population that dominates neopet are teens and adults
I started out making (shitty) userlookups and learning the basics of html, which inspired me to explore other things. I have a friend in the bay area who says she knows a lot of other women who took a similar path, which I think is pretty neat.
Also, when I thought I was going to need to take an econ class, I thought I would maybe at least not fail.

Reason: added a thought i forgot to write
I learned how to code simple HTML and that got me into making some css later on! Neo is also where I did my very first roleplaying and I've only branched out and gotten better at character creation/writing/so on from there. I wouldn't love it as much as I do today if it weren't for my first experiences on Neo.
The Following User Says Thank You to nidoqueen For This Useful Post:
1. Super basic HTML, not too useful for life unless I can really code for real though
2. If people admire your art and always tell you how good your art is, you are LIKELY (only likely, at least that apply to me) won't improve your art
(that's because mentally you are happy and satisfy with your artwork and do not have the energy to reach out of that level)
3. Friends are gold if you find the good right friend~ (I got a few ha!)
self taught how to make graphics extremely well, due to an interest initially for making my own guild with a good layout because I hated everyone else's. jack other people's coding and acting like i didn't~ still to this day like 14 years later and I still jack everyone else's coding
That Neopets has become a matter of nostalgia. Much like Pokmon back in the day was such an amazing, engrossing, and go-to time consumer I find myself still clicking around at things and selling items in game. Pokmon offered the wow I did it I beat the gym, now on Neo I'm like sweet I got this or that stamp lol. I don't know, it's the nostalgia of how I would gather items or play the games many many years ago. I like looking back.
I havd also learned that the boards are nothing but a bunch of adults who still act like children. So I have never gone back to them.
